...on December 16, 1935, this 1st year 357 (REG 649) left the factory en route to becoming a Christmas present for a lucky LEO in Omaha, Nebraska...

Well, that has everything that I like!!! Favorite model, favorite bbl length, favorite caliber, favorite stocks, favorite finish.... Even the sights are what I would be ordering, if we were back in 1935, and I had the money (very unlikely) and was filling out the order form!!!

I can't imagine how that treasure made it through 81 years in that condition.

In 1935 my dad would have been 3 years old and his family would still be reeling from the effects of the Great Depression.

Amazingly, others would be able to afford an incredible S&W like yours. It's a beautiful revolver, thanks for sharing those photos and that great story.
