Define Humor?

Humor is : subject-timing-delivery-expression ...
Here are a few of my top people :

George Carlin
Jonathan Winters
Ron White
Eddie Murphey
Don Rickles

I am sure there are many more, but these always gets to me.

Thank you,

Big Bang Theory used to be funny, now not so much?
Understand it is over for 1rst run shows, guess the change from kids to older grew thin, but from perusing the channels the reruns will be around for a while.
The people on this forum remain humorous, both original topics and responses, though it seems as if not everyone agrees! 😥
I agree about the " Big Bang Theory". It was funnier a couple seasons ago and previously.
Last couple of years have seemed canned and forced humor, or else I'm just bored with it? Whatever, don't much watch anymore.

Well...

I've got a warped sense of humor and laugh at
things some might deem inappropriate.
I'm OK with that.
To define Humor would be a very difficult thing.
Who has it? Who does not?
I just know the kind of folks i like to be around.
Ya' gotta be a little warped by today's standards.

When I was a kid I'd laugh at the unexpected, the punch line or pratfall. A bit older my friends and I would make our own fun, laughing at the ridiculous antics of our own. Older still with wife, family and dog I'd be amused at the absurd goings on of daily life in the house and So. Fla in general.
Now I laugh at all of the above but the constant throughout my life has been the ability to laugh at myself first. Anything else is fair game.

laughing right now

I'm not sure if this is humor or humorous.
In about 2004 there was a kids movie came out, "Garfield". My youngest grand daughter was about 4 yrs old at the time. By the time that kid had seen the movie a couple of times, (her favorite at the time) she would laugh so hard in anticipation of the next gag/line that she'd hold her belly and just roll on the floor.
By the time I'd seen the movie a time or two w/ her I'd be laughing as hard or harder than she was.
Still makes me chuckle today.
I'll mention it to her when I see her next.
Thanks Folks, I enjoy the Forum

Humor often does not translate across cultures/languages. Years ago, I was interpreting for an American VIP in a discussion with several Japanese VIPs. The American, wanting to break the ice, was telling a joke, which I was laboriously and literally translating. The Japanese looked increasingly bewildered. What in the heck was the American talking about?!

So I interjected into my interpreting flow, "He is just telling a joke. When he finishes, just laugh a bit. He will appreciate it and all will be well."

So they did. And it was.:)

I believe both. Humor being a funny or amusing quality but some would believe it is a specific genre of humor.
Personally I find humor in The Three Stooges, Monty Python or a quality stand up like Brian Regan.
Some would believe those styles are not funny but juvenile.
I cannot stand perverted jokes and I believe any non thinker would giggle like a school boy at these.

Humor is also a disposition.

So aside from the hurtful or base humor it is all personal preference.

Humor is a matter of perspective.
In my years of shooting, I have several times witnessed ladies doing the "brass-in-bra" dance. I find it absolutely hilarious and can't help laughing! :D
They don't seem to share the sentiment.

I didn't think ladies used that kind of language.
