Now 'Mannix' is gone......

It didn't get much notice in the media, but Barbara Hale also died last week. She was 94.

They didnt because those two (NAAAAASTY ""Women"") [[[madonna and that other whom ive never heard of before]]]] were getting all the media attention.

I think it was more because she died the day after MTM, who was more widely known. I ignored all of the claptrap about MTM being a feminist icon and fondly remembered her first for being Laura Petrie, then when I was a bit older, being Mary Richards. :)

She performed in other shows and movies, most notably opposite Elvis in "Change of Habit".

Hale was best known for being Della Street, but was also in a number of other movies and shows before and after that role.

Both were accomplished actresses.

Not to be "Debbie Downer", but I'm far more saddened by the loss of my parents, uncles, aunts, family friends of that generation, than I am by any Hollywood icon.

Those were the people who I watched as a child and for the most part have tried to emulate as an adult.

They are the ones that instilled in me the values that have guided my life.

I remember my parents' sadness as their generation's icons (Bogart, Cagney, Bing Crosby) passed away. Now, sadly it's our turn...
