Just finished dinner. old bear home fixed meatloaf, carrots, roasted red potatoes, and yeast rolls; all washed down with a glass of ice cold milk. To be followed up with a slice of Key Lime pie.

It's turned cold, here in NC, but I'm nice and warm in my little home commutating with my forum friends and a new book to enjoy later.
I'm a happy guy, and I hope the rest of you are well and are enjoying yourselves.

Yep getting ready to light a fire here in "The Burgh" ......hard to believe I was napping on the deck two Sundays ago...........................

Just got an oil delivery on Wednesday after running on fumes for nearly 3 weeks so I'm happy here with the inside temperature set back up to normal. :) The good wife is gone off with her girlfriends for the weekend (Freedom, blessed freedom!!!) so I made myself a couple deluxe blue cheese burgers (Damn, they were good!) and I've got a gun show to go to in the morning. In other words, life is pretty darn good here too. :)

Yup and a week ago today, I was sitting on my front porch wearing a tank top and shorts and smokin' a Gran Habano Vintage 2002.
.

Snubby......you know .......there is such a thing as....... too much information................

I may not be able to sleep tonight...................................

Dang, Fred...that sounds awfully good! You are absolutely right on the money. Most times it's the simple things that bring us joy...quiet evenings, good friends, loved ones, a nice fire and a good book. Doesn't really take much.

Y'know, I feel sorry for those who don't understand that. Those are the folks that no matter how much they have, they're never satisfied. Sad isn't it?

After a meal like in the OP, another of lifes simple pleasures may occur! If it doesn't then life is not so pleasurable!

A meals location can add to the pleasure. Camping, darkness coming, campfire down to coals, simple food becomes a feast! Dessert can be as simple as adding some wood to the campfire, and listening to the day go quiet and night sounds come alive. Beverage of your choice as you relax, and conversation goes quieter, maybe an owl hoots, a coyote or wolf howls in the distance, wind in the trees, and the sky sparkles with stars!

PBJ sandwich is simple. What you had was a feast! Makes me hungry just thinking about it. :D

Love this! I love nothing more than sitting in the yard with my dog and maybe having a beer after work. It don't get no better unless maybe there's a grill involved. [emoji41]

Couldn't agree with that statement more Fred.
I just go with the flow these days.
And i feel so much better for it.

This picture was taken a few years ago but these
grandkids are what takes up some of my time
these days. I couldn't be happier about it.

Don't let stress and worrying kill ya'
