So I picked up a UDR to go with my recent 986PC. The factory 986 grips didn't work for me so I got a set of Hogue checkered wood bantam grips which I like. They do make them for the N frame as well but let's see some more options. I am also considering Ahrends tactical grips but prefer checkering. The Eagle grips are checkered but they are too narrow for my big hands. Show me what you have!

I do wonder whose hand the factory grips fit. I have a VZ grip on mine one of the smoother ones. Will try for a picture later in the week. mine are the black and grey ones and they look nice against the frame. Is my primary carry gun in the winter can stuff a couple moon clips into my coat pocket.

I really like the Eagle SS grips, but wanted something a little longer so I swapped them with a set of Ahrends' cocobolo, retro combats I had laying around. I am sure I'll change 'em many more times.

Cocobolo yes indeed. I have avoided going to wood because I know I would buy a number of them and swap them out under the pretense of making sure that the main spring screw was still properly positioned. Is terrible being OC.

I agree. Too many nice looking grips out there.

Here's what I replaced the factory grips with. Ahrends Combats bought from a forum member recently. I believe they are called antique gold stained maple. Very comfortable and not bad looking either.:D

This is the set I have on mine except it is the more yellowish light color. Great grips.

I wanted something different for my 625JM. These Thailand stocks work well for me. Was not overly happy with Altamont round to square. They are a little too thin for me. Bob

I have small hands and find that N frame factory grips don't fit me very well.

Here are some options that I have tried and found to work well on round butt N frame guns.

Ahrends Retro Banana Grips and Altamont with Grip Adapters

More Ahrends Retro Banana Grips

I like those Altamont bonded ivories + T-grip. I'm doing that on a 27-2 myself, just waiting on the T-grip.
