Shooting a revolver DA accurately requires a few things. First, a good medium or large frame S&W revolver with a leaf mainspring. I have a Ruger Security Six with a coil mainspring and I can't shoot it nearly as well. Second, the gun needs to be well broken in or possibly slicked up by a Gunsmith. Having a really light DA trigger isn't really necessary but having a very smooth trigger pull is vital. The rest is pretty much practice but you should start improving fairly quickly. I remember the first time I drew and fired double action at a full soda can 25 yards away with a 4" M-19 .357 and blew it up, I was hooked. I have always loved DA shooting with Smith revolvers since that day and I can clear a steel plate rack with my M-24 4" .44 Special almost as fast as I can with my Kimber 1911 .45acp.
