That's why they changed them I guess.

"D", "Plain"- no letter, & "W". They assigned the tag & charged you by the vehicle weight, IIRC.

Still got mine from my lightweight "first new car". :D

My intemt was not to argue about the mods. I just wanted to share the photos. I do suggest some reading on the development of the Ecoboost engine. Ford is quickly expanding the use of the Ecoboost. The Ford engineers knew they had to hit a home run when offering this option on their flagship vehicle the F-150. I to was skeptical and was always a bigger liter, V8 guy. I have been very pleased with the power, the torque, and gas mileage (if I keep my lead foot in check). My father in-law owns a Platinum F-150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost and tows a 30 foot boat with no issues. We have owned eight F-150s between the 2 of us and these are the 1st ones without V8s. He has 25K on his including 5 trips towing his boat to the Florida Keys. Both of our trucks have tow packages though the only thing I tow is a Suzuki GSX 1300r Hayabusa or my new Ducati 1299 Panigale S.
No....I have a "work truck" F-150 that gets thumped around during home projects, hauling trash to the dump, and some off roading fun. This new one is just my "pretty truck". I do smile when I hop behind the wheel. Thanks for looking. Hopefully a few years from now I will be able to report on my thoughts on the longevity of the Ecoboost engine. I do enjoy (prior to the mods) the 17.4 MPG I was getting around town. I never saw that mileage in my F-150.V8s.

With those mods his truck is producing way more grunt than a stock F-150 V8. Of course, they wouldn't work here or in CA simply because we only get ethanol adulterated 91 octane swill as premium.

US spec number plates are generally hateful, but it strikes me that many manufacturers still build cars and trucks with intakes right where the front plate goes. Will they ever learn? I'm lucky, because I live in a state with no mandatory requirement for a front plate.
