Oh my I'm under attack from the air! All kinds of WWII aircraft are flying in for the big WWII weekend!;)
So far B17,B24,P40 and some small scouting aircraft! Nothing with Red Meatballs or Black Crosses on them yet! ;)
If you enjoy reenactment weekends Reading PA is the place to be!:D
This area will be packed with it.......

Every Memorial Day I see many WWll era planes flying over our house - the exception was THIS year! Not a one! There was indeed an air show at the Beach (as usual) so the only thing I can conclude is that they changed the landing and take off patterns. That was not in my best interest (not that it maters to them :D), but fighting the crowds going to and at the Beach is not my style anymore either. Hopefully next year they'll go back to the original routine. :p

Reminds me of the air show I attended a couple of weeks ago at Seymour Johnson AFB that included the "Tora Tora Tora Airshow" planes. You can read about 'em here.

The Planes

Five or six Zeros and a Kate torpedo bomber, with lots of explosions and flames on the ground. I must admit that it was both beautiful and heart-rending at the same time as I thought about what the sailors on those ships and the soldiers, Marines, and civilians on the ground in Hawaii must have experienced seeing those pristine white fighters with the big red meatballs tearing up everything in sight. And seeing that big torpedo underneath the Kate, thinking of seeing one heading toward your ship and dropping it....nothing to be done....very moving.

Ok! If you insist!
I'll just sing one song.
This one actually arrived too late to have any effect on the war.
But it could have been a contender!

Your first one looks like a B-26? Used extensively in the
Korean War.

Next to last appears to be a P-38. I believe one of them
shot down Yamamoto's plane killing him.

First one is an A-20 Havoc. It was the first military aircraft to use tricycle landing gear.

I am blessed to be a 3 wood away from the Air Force Museum and the Dayton Air Show.

I wish we had Wonka Vision so I could beam all you aero-buffs here.

The Vietnam hanger is especially moving.

Besides, they have Freeze-dried ice cream.

Best aircraft display in these parts is the Pima at Tucson.
I have been there several times and want to go again.
