My second novel just launched, and I am running a FREE promotion on the first book for the next five days. Both of them are fiction and have loads of gun facts and firearms history. I am a gun nut like everyone else here, and I did my best to mix in plenty of pro 2nd Amendment talk and conservative politics into each story. I hope I represented our knowledgeable and respectful community well. I have been a hobbyist and reloader for almost ten years and am a long time lurker on this and many other forums. Please take the opportunity to download the first one at no charge. The only thing I ask in return, please take a minute to leave an honest review in the kindle store and tell your friends and family about it if you enjoyed it. Even if you don't own a kindle you can download the app on any android or apple device or purchase a paperback copy. Thanks.

Description:
In 1871, a small group of Rangers were sent to the Texas frontier to investigate a string of attacks on the settlers. Only a single man returned alive. The mystery surrounding the doomed mission and the disappearance of the storied lawmen still resonates in their lineage six generations later. Sanford and the Mayor, tired after a boring year playing board games and drinking iced tea, decide to take up the challenge of solving the one hundred and forty year old puzzle and locate a lost family heirloom.

Thanks to everyone that grabbed a copy so far, I think there are over 150 downloads since this morning. I've received great reviews since its release last year, 28 of them at 4.6 stars, so please take the opportunity to get a good read for free.

Does the book byline give your real name? Might help to find the books in a store.

Bookstores and libraries shelve by author name, not by title.

Who is your publisher? Most shy away from pro-gun stuff. And I got some bad reviews from a UK editor for mentioning gun makes and models in, The Lost World fan fiction. He said that most readers don't want that kind of detail.

But Tom Clancy and others made a mint off of deep detail in their techno-thrillers.

I think the issue is that EDITORS don't care about gun detail. READERS may not in the main, but unless it's really intrusive, readers probably don't object. Women reading romances usually can't care less about gun detail. Books with a wide male readership may fare better in that regard. My British critic turned out to be a publisher of romance novels. And in the UK, publishers may be even more anti-gun than here.

BTW, one major publisher here is owned by NBC! They even got an author to plug the Today show, even to naming Matt Lauer before his recent fall from grace.

I don't do Kindle nor do I have an Amazon acct. My son does. If I send him this topic, will he be able to tell how to get me a free paperback copy of the book? Am I correct in thinking that a free paper copy is offered?

My name is Jonathan Cummins, and no it is not in stores because it is self published on Amazon KDP. Maybe one day, although I would hate to be told what I can and cannot include in my novel. I guess that is one of the perks of being an independent author.

I'll send this topic to my son and see if he can scrounge me a copy in paperback. You didn't answer my question about that. He might want one for himself, too.

And he has a bunch of friends who might like your books.

Good luck.

You can order a paperback print on demand from Amazon, it takes about a week to get it.

Lee Child seems to be doing okay with Jack Reacher, and he uses a fair amount of detail. Some of it's wrong, but it's still detail. :)
