Picked this one up today, a 19-3 from a local shop. After 4 .38's (M&P from ~1920, a Victory, a 10-5, and a 14-3) I made the jump and this is my first magnum. I have shot 19's a d 686's at work and fell in love so I had to have one. It came with rubber Pachmayrs which were promptly swithced out for some Goncalo Alves target stocks I had in the parts bin. SN 9K59501, SCSW 4th ed. puts it '75-76. Was hoping for a birth year gun (1975), can anyone narrow that down for me by chance? It seems they overlap between those years in that SN range.

Sorry - 1977.

SCSW 4th is off at this point.

1976 - 9K1 through 9K13999
1977 - 9K14000 through 9K83999
1978 - 9K84000 through 9K99999

Thanks for all the replies. It certainly was well cared for, but the Ren Wax makes it look better than it is. It's about 80%, there is a fair amount of blue loss on the edges and high spots of the cylinder. Jack, thanks for the info on the date, while not what I wanted to hear, it gives me an excuse to keep looking for another! I'll make some notes in my book with the updated info. Now debating whether or not to letter it, was going to if it was a '75 gun.

I had a friend of mine looking for a blued one back in November. I found two (actually my brother found one of them) one blued and one nickel. Both were P&R TH TT. The blued one was wearing Pacs, the nickel had the correct target grips. Both guns were about 98-99%. I kept the nickel and my friend got the blued one he wanted. Paid $600 for the blue and $525 for the nickel. We're both happy. Also both were RR WO. I got a good deal on both revolvers and the extra's made it worth even more.

That's about as good as you can get. Condition, price, options all there. Great find and enjoy shooting it. Congrats!
