Let's see your UGLY guns!

I’m sorry, but I don’t see what’s so ugly about this old gal. Sure, she has some minor condition issues, but at 112 years old, I doubt any of us would look much better...

Well... that's its good side. Some kind of chemical was used on it to clean the bore and on the left side it overflowed out of the muzzle and ran down the side of the barrel and onto the cylinder and frame, stripping the bluing where ever it went.

In the pic I posted, the bare metal around the side plate screw behind the trigger, the ejector rod, and on the muzzle is the results on that side... the other side of the gun is much worse, so I never took a pic of it.

I always use "ugly gun" threads to pull out this trump card:

I saw a thread on another forum looking for pictures of ugly guns, figured it might be fun to start a similar thread here. I'll get it started:

Now this is an ugly gun, and I would bet my life on it...just as many of our serviceman bet their lives with guns just like this, from the forests of the Belleau Wood and the Argonne, the island insurrections in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, the beaches of Italy, Normandy, Pelelieu, Okinawa and Iwo Jima, the frozen expanse of North Korea and the steamy jungles of Vietnam. On this 4th of July, Independence Day 2018, let us not forget the sacrifices made by our brave men and women in uniform every day to keep our country safe and free.

Personally, I don't find old/worn firearms to be ugly at all, tarnish/scratches/pitting doesn't make an otherwise gorgeous firearm like the 1911 ugly. If anything it's just a little sad that it wasn't taken better care of, but there's a sort of charm to it as well, especially in one which has seen battle because it just sort of looks the way that you would imagine it to after numerous tours of duty. It's not ugly at all, its marred surface just reflects its status as a battle-scarred veteran, same as the brave men who once carried it, it's as beautiful as the flag that it fought for and the freedom it represents.

Here's my contribution. A 1906 Luger found in a leaky chest on a farm in the South. It was frozen solid when I got it but I soaked it in Kroil oil and managed to not only get it apart but to fire a primed case with it.

Oh, I got so caught up in my last post that I completely forgot to post my "ugly" firearm. Granted that unlike most in this thread, it isn't considered ugly due to being old/worn, but rather due to its general appearance...

Personally, I think it's more cool-looking than ugly, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

That Luger is gorgeous. I LOVE crusty guns

The 1911 looks like the one I saw on another forum that someone found relic hunting and got it running again?

I don't have any ugly guns. I think yours is beautiful.

Have a blessed day,

Ugly Walther

Here's a newer, more modern ugly gun! The not so nice to look at Walther PPX. What she lacks in looks, she more than makes up for in her trigger though. And that ugly hump feels surprisingly great in the hand and allows you to get a real solid grip. But SO ugly!

This was given to me from a coworker. Straightened the front sight, cleaned it, and shot it. It is very worn and I don't shoot it often and use low velocity .22's. The holster is gorgeous though.
H&R Sportsman? I have one of those, in much rougher condition than yours.

I shoot all sorts of .22lr through mine. It churns through everything, and is accurate as heck.

...not mine...

...butt ugly none the less...

...I like how the revolver has a safety zip tie...
