I'll leave the close parking spots for those who need them. I'm lucky to still be able to enjoy walking.

Here in Iowa, they will put VETERAN on your drivers license if you show them your DD214.![]()
Also a local car dealership will do $9.95 oil changes for you if your retired military or wounded Vet.
Besides, unlike PREGNANT WOMAN or HANDICAPPED PLACARD, how is anyone going to tell I'm not a veteran if I park there?
...Besides, I usually have Ruthie drop me at the door as she could use the exercise.

I have not seen any veteran reserved spots in my area.
This one has me confused. Is it for a pregnant mom or a fat guy and his Bar-B-Q?
Our local wally world has their handicapped parking spaces in front of the two entrances and exits. I consider myself extremely fortunate when I find one that is empty. Seems lately everytime I go there I end up parking anywhere as those spaces are usually full. Though the fine is about $300 for someone abusing the handicapped privelege I have yet to date see anyone checking for handicapped plates, handicapped placards or mobility impaired id cards or other handicap cards. Might be interesting to see what would happen if the local police dept started doing this. I've seen the $300 dollar figure printed on the handicapped signs. Frank

Mission BBQ puts their money (food, actually) where their mouth is.....my wife belongs to a Volunteer Organization that responds to fire and police emergencies and provides rehab services to the troops handling the emergency.....
Mission has shown up at several large incidents (Recent Newspaper shootings, Baltimore Riots, etc.) and dropped off food for the troops, along with Phone #'s and with "call us, if you need anything" instructions.
Yes, they can deliver....they have a whole fleet of these...
