I was just surfing the web a couple of days ago and came across this. A 24 year old singer from Kazakhstan that opened in a Chinese's talent show that started last year, he didn't even speak Chinese and was singing a song in French. The song is from the 1979 French rock opera Starmania. There's no fakery here it's live and beyond belief. Even if you don't like this style of music the voice has to be admired.

His octave range is way above Freddie's but I'm not sure he could do a English translation well. People used to talk about Mariah Carey having a 5 octave range, Dimash's is 6 and they're not sure that he may not be able to exceed that. Here's a voice coach's reaction to his vocals.

I have to tell you when I just recently heard this my jaw hit the floor.
I no musical scholar and I can't carry a tune in a bucket but this was much more than I had ever heard from any singer.

He is a countertenor.....

A countertenor is a natural male soprano. Not to long ago a young boy soprano would be castratred to preserve their voice past puberty. I know of several, but they are rare.

Whatever name you put on it, I've hardly heard such a beautiful voice and expertise even in female sopranos, and that's saying something.

These shows have become popular to the point where nearly every country has one. I enjoy them more than 'American's Next Pop Star'.

I love this Russian kid:

The song is 'Cuckoo', the theme from the movie 'The Battle of Savostopol' an old patriotic song. For us gun people the movie is about Lyudmila Pavlichenko, the female sniper that killed 309 German soldiers in WWII.

Her name is Yaroslava Dectyaryova. She's older now, but when this was made she was 7. She was in a bad car accident when she was 5 and had to learn to walk again. She started singing soon after.

The blonde judge,Pelageya Khanova, is extremely talented in her own right and is one of the foremost interpreters of Russian folk music.

He has a lot of musical talent. I also found out he plays a bladder pipe the instrument of his country. It utilizes a goat bladder.

If anyone remembers a group called rennisance the female lead singer Annie Haslam supposedly had a 5 octave range. i have most of their records and disc's. Frank

He does have tremendous range. And, he doesn't lose clarity in the upper range. An unusual voice to be sure.
