I think I'll stay home and let the amateur drunks be out and about.:(

There's got to be a reason some of the major trucking firms have their drivers shut down for the night.

Besides, I can't stay awake past 8 p.m anymore.:o

Get lit and partay!! Aha-ha-hah-haaaah!!

Just kidding. I'm in a dry country, no alcohols allowed.

The wife and I will probably share a bottle of nice wine with some goodies and go lights out around 10 PM, just like most nights!

A New Year's kiss is just as sweet at 7am as at Midnight, maybe even better!

I'm not a sports guy so during New Years Day, I'll be looking for a good Chess game or Risk tournament. If it isn't too bad of weather, go to club and Shoot Sporting Clays.

The plan...

With only one exception in the last 15 years or so, I shall adjourn to my favourite watering hole circa 1600. There I will catch a bit of football on the tube whilst enjoying a few PBR's before heading home circa 2000. That's when those planning late night fun begin to arrive.

Once home, fix the big Caesar salad and bigger steak for sole consumption. Watch a bit of football and will be in bed before the ball (or Moon Pie) drops to herald the new year.

Works for me...YMMV.

Be safe.

That moon pie thing sounds interesting. I will search that a bit and see what I have been missing:-)

My Wildlife Club has an annual beach walk where the Prez throws a sealed bottle containing wishes for the New Year in it into the ocean.
Then we go eat lunch somewhere, over by 1400.

Then, wife and I will coast through the evening with her enjoying just a little Moscato and I, the fruits of some Kentucky hollers.
If nothing decent is on TV, I may reload or tie flies.

Having worked a seemingly innumerable New Years Eves, I find the quiet very nice.
No wrestling drunks, no loud party calls where the drunk resident always wants to shake my hand, no domestics, etc. It's great....

I stay away from trouble by celebrating at home with my wife.

First, we have a nice dinner. This year it will be shrimp cocktail, followed by bacon wrapped center cut sirloins and several small sides. Later, a thin slice of chocolate cake with ice cream and homemade fudge sauce.

At 10 P.M., we watch the movie, After the Thin Man, which ends with about 5+ minutes before midnight. Then, we watch the ball drop and take in the neighbors' fireworks display and hit the sack.

I will be with friends in the afternoon and home by 8 pm. The kids, wife and I will briefly celebrate when the ball drops in NY at 11 pm (our time) and hit the hay hoping for a better year.

My son and I will reminisce about New Years Eve, 2009. We were standing on the sidewalk in front of my house watching the firemen put out the fire on my roof. The little (expletive deleted) from across the street were celebrating New Years Eve by shooting illegal fireworks. One of their rockets landed on my roof. I thought many times of climbing onto their roof with a gallon of gasoline and setting their roof on fire. Such wonderful memories.
