I'm not too familiar with all them oriental rugs but I did find this and it might help.

I have no idea how to fly one of those things. How much horsepower does that carpet have? Is there an altitude ceiling? 
Thank you.From looking over these sites, the lack of a center medallion says that is not a Heriz.

I'm pretty sure if you send these places a picture of the whole rug they can identify it for you. Is the sticker still on the back of it? Probably not, huh?!

Thirty years ago, I probably could have have identified it, or at least come up with a pretty good guess. My then GF really liked her Persian rugs, and could afford to indulge herself.

Some are really nice looking and I'd love having one again. Or two.
But there's two things that keep me from owning one again. Money and that I never know if underaged kids made them or not.
The edge strings on the ends might give a clue as to the person that wove it. If the edge strings consist of a constant row of gathered strings tied in a knot, it signifies that the weaver was a virgin. I have one rug that the knots only run part way, and then the knots stop.
