It is unfired.

Very clean specimen of a S&W Model 27-2.

Dat is sweet, bdGreen. Beautiful gun. I have the nickel version of that one except maybe a year older. It was unfired when I got it but I fixed that problem I did shoot it a little bit but I haven't run a bunch of rounds through it. It wasn't bought to just look at but for me to enjoy.

I have 27s in 3.5, 5, 6, 6.5 and 8.375, but not a 4".

I have a 27-2 6" and a 27-3 4" with Nill Griffe smooth grips with finger grooves. Love my N Frames (and K and J as well).

4" 27s were only catalog items from about 1980 (late-2s).... when the 4" option replaced the 3 1/2 and 5 inch guns........ till about 1990 as -3s.

Have you been out scarfing up 4" dash 2s or did you just find them in your vault?

I had a devil of a time finding a blue 4" 27-2 but at one time had 4 or 5 nickel 27-2s. I have no idea why. Also, it's not unusual to find 27-3 4" revolvers that are pinned or recessed but not both.

Your guns and pictures are really great!

Have had these jewels for quite some time.
They have just been taking a back seat to the '.22' family.

They cleaned up pretty well.
