The mag is used as a speed loader.
Open the gate , eject the empties, thumb in the 45acp's from the mag..
All good..

I would never have even thought to reload a SAA pattern revolver from a single stack magazine. This forum amazes me almost every day, I think I learn something new quite often.

It was referred to as both the Mag-Comp and Carry-Comp. Sorry my photos are not the best, probably should have had my grand daughters do the posting!!

This one should make a nice companion to the custom Model 58 you showed me in Texas at the last Symposium!! Hope this helps. Tell your father I said hello, hope to see you both in Tulsa this year.

Only this 1917 colt for the millionth time. A great gun that looks like a hard chrome finish but is really just bare metal where someone removed the blue but didn't buff it. It's the only .45 ACP I own.



These are pretty popular here and especially colt forum. Here's a holster I made for a guy who had one in the same length.

I have two- a RSR that a friend had shortened before the Alaskan became popular (then he traded it to me), and a Colt New Service in .45 Colt.

Auto pistol magazine for the appropriate cartridge makes a great "speed loader" for a revolver in the same caliber....especially a single action.

Flat, relatively light & easy to carry plus it reduces fumble time when reloading.

I am glad to see that I am not the only one carrying around CCI shot shells. My dad toted a Colt Trooper with a cylinder full when we were out mowing grass along the Medina river in my youth.

Had a .25-2 with a lot of blue wear cut to 3 1/2”. Andy Horvath cut the barrel and added a Weigand interchangeable front sight base. It was reblued by a local gunsmith. Wanted to round butt the gun but a 3 1/2” model 27 is a square butt gun and I wanted it to look like a 27. Larry

A Charter Arms Bulldog here. I have often wondered why the big bore snubby never caught on, and why the big bore revolver went out of fashion.

I'd say the big-bore-snubby is back in fashion for sure... Just take a look at their prices on GunBroker. A LHS in good shape easily goes for $2K+ now! I'm glad I got both of mine when they were first coming back in style instead of now! And I've seen a lot of newly manufactured M625's and M629's here as of late as well and they certainly command a premium as well.
