Cataract surgery.

When I said laser, I meant using a laser for the incision instead of a scalpel. It costs extra since it's not covered by insurance, but there is NO disadvantage I'm aware of.

The eyedrops can be expensive, so ask about coupons, generics, or pharma rep samples.

You'll have a few days off afterward, so plan to relax. I had ZERO pain of any kind, at any point. :)

Thanks Telecaster. Actually I retired 20 years and 4 days ago. Every day is Saturday for me. :D

Had both of mine done(laser) about 5 years ago. One on Tuesday checked on Wednesday, next one Thursday checked on Friday. Golfed on Saturday. No problems at all. Ended up 20/10 each eye. Need reading glasses but distance is awesome!

Today I talked to a doctor about cataract surgery. I was told there will be no eye drops after surgery. They will give me a shot in the eye that does away with the eye drops after surgery. They said that had been around since 2002. I hope they know what they are talking about. Larry

Dunno about not using eye drops. Almost everyone I know (including me) has undergone cataract surgery over the last 10 years, and all needed the eye drops, both before and after the surgery. And the eye drops are a little expensive but my insurance took care of most of it.

I had both eyes done back in 2017. No regrets at all. I went with the corrective lenses. Had to pay for those out of my own pocket. Not cheap, but they were well worth it.
Now I only need cheap drug store readers for reading and up close work.
BTW: I used to wear TRI-FOCALS!

I had surgery on one eye in September and the other in October of this year. Actually don't need glasses to drive but the doc gave me a set for close and intermediate. And another for reading. Will have a follow up visit in March but so far so good. Everything now is sharp and clear. used to read with no glasses not anymore. Now have reading glasses and can see the numbers on the dials on my lathe. Glad I had it done. Frank

All went well. Surgery completed at 1100 and back home after a nice lunch with Ruthie at 1300. (Had some stares as my eye was so dilated that it looked like an open manhole)

After the Versed and fentanyl drip they could have gone in with a backhoe and I wouldn't have cared.

I asked the surgeon about the "No drops" shot. He said he is not a fan. I got antibiotic shots in my lens cavities which allows me the use of the multi "3 in 1" drops as opposed to using four separate type drops.

PS: Ruthie is taking dictation here as I can't blow the screen up big enough.

The fog is lifting.

Speaking of the IV - Nurse Ladies actually inserted mine.
And like already reported, like a shot or a blood draw.
Then the Doc gave me the anesthesia.
Just enough to make you woozy cause they don't want you completely out.
I ask him, what's the name of this stuff?
Do you want Street Name or real name?
I want Street Name, Please.
It's called Micheal Jackson juice.
It's what he used to take himself out.
But not to worry!
I won't give you that much!
Thank you!
