Somewhere around 1980 a new type handcuff came out with the key much like the security key for vending machines. I don't recall the manufacture- possible S&W ??

In 1969 S&W introduced the "New Model 94 Maximum Security Handcuffs."
There were 3 versions of the Model 94.
They made cuffs that used a "standard" key that was marked N or was blank.
The also made "Restricted" ones that used special cut keys marked:
H, L, D, G, E, R & M

The M-94 Version 1 has two right hand cuffs. The version 2 had a right & left hand cuff. The version 3 had a right & left hand cuff and a smooth pivot hinge.

I had a pair of old Peerless handcuffs that my dad bought at a yard sell.

I'm guessing their still in the Flagler County Sheriffs evidence locker...long story with a short ending.

I still have a pair of Colt cuffs from the mid 70's, thing is, I have never run across another pair or anyone that has ever seen them before.
Could they be that rare ?

Any of you old law dogs ever get a call where a kid has locked him/herself with a pair of cuffs and no key? The parents just about always give you the cuffs. I have several pair I got like this. One my key would not fit but I still got it open with a bobby pin.

When I did security work in the early-to-mid 1970's one of my purchases was a set of Peerless Handcuffs. I don't recall ever having used them; they were more of a 'just in case' item than anything else. One agency discouraged my carrying them but another practically insisted on it.

Interesting post here....
First off I'm not a handcuff collector but have several pairs. The 1 pair in picture were my fathers. Dad was LE for 35+ years and I obtained the antique pair when he passed several years ago.
They were his first pair when he became a deputy sheriff in 1956 or so.
The other pair that are stamped with some agency markings I don't know where they came from.
Anyway see pics and offer any information you can on either pair.
