$1000!!!!!

Well at a time like this you need to have a little compassion for the illegals. they are also people, kids and women are among them. i am not saying they should also be given 1000$ but some care would be good.

Yes we should do something for these people, It is what Christ called us to do, Love you neighbor as you love your self.

Looks like, among other things, a massive corporate gift program. As if they didn't just get a huge gift in the form of a tax reduction.
Is the $ in the nature of unemployment, or is it more like a loan that will be paid back?

I'm bringing this thread back up because something has occurred to me. These stimulus checks are supposedly  based on tax returns, correct?  I have a disabled friend how's only income is social security disability. She doesn't make enough money to have to file income taxes and hasn't done so in years. In fact, many Americans are in the same position. Will these folks get a check?

I'm worried that they might be missed. So this morning I e-mailed all my Congress Critters to point out his very situation. They need the extra money more than anybody. So I ask please, contact your congressmen and representatives and point this out to them. The more of us that do so can make sure that people who really need the money will get it.

Economic impact payments: What you need to know | Internal Revenue Service

I am not typically required to file a tax return. Can I still receive my payment?

Yes. People who typically do not file a tax return will need to file a simple tax return to receive an economic impact payment. Low-income taxpayers, senior citizens, Social Security recipients, some veterans and individuals with disabilities who are otherwise not required to file a tax return will not owe tax.

How can I file the tax return needed to receive my economic impact payment?

IRS.gov/coronavirus will soon provide information instructing people in these groups on how to file a 2019 tax return with simple, but necessary, information including their filing status, number of dependents and direct deposit bank account information.

I have not filed my tax return for 2018 or 2019. Can I still receive an economic impact payment?

Yes. The IRS urges anyone with a tax filing obligation who has not yet filed a tax return for 2018 or 2019 to file as soon as they can to receive an economic impact payment. Taxpayers should include direct deposit banking information on the return.

I need to file a tax return. How long are the economic impact payments available?

For those concerned about visiting a tax professional or local community organization in person to get help with a tax return, these economic impact payments will be available throughout the rest of 2020.

With all due respect, the government is not counting of people saving this money. They are counting on people spending it.

Your call might fall on deaf ears, sadly.

Since my last post I've found out that this has already been taken care of. People on disability will get a check and don't have to file a new tax return to get it.
Story Here

I would keep the money in case of any emergency needs but deep down inside i would've love to buy a new gun, LOL.

Sounds like my m29 6.5" 44 mag in nickel? Maybe I need firewood too.

Second thought I worked two and three jobs my whole life. I always made ends meet some how. I think I should donate food to the food pantry in town. The needy can use it. I'm not rich but I'm ok.
