Nice Score on a 3953, I think.

I saw one on gunbroker. In original box with 5 factory mags. Had the Hogue grips on it, which I don't have an issue with on a single stack gun, although I might get a factory straight one. $425 plus shipping and credit card and it was $478.

Never saw this marking before. Must be to differentiate between a regular 3913 slide.

Here's the package:

The sights look like night sights, but they don't glow at all. They're also not marked on the sight but they're not aftermarket. Are they Trjicons? If they are, I'll have them re-lamped.

Gun fits nicely in a Desantis leather holster for my Shield. Also fits into my Hidden Hybrid for the Shield, althout not with the positive "click" I get with the Shield. I'm not gonna force it into that one, but the Desantis one works fine.

I figure the 5 mags made it a great deal. Got it from a shop in Texas. They left the price tag on the gun. $299 for the whole thing! Don't see deals like that around here. About 3 years ago I saw a 3953 in the box with three mags for $299. Kicked myself for not getting that one.

Nice snag. I am on the hunt for one also for my wife and daughter to use. Guess I got slack and missed that one on GunBroker.

That's how I read it as well. The SCSW shows the VAM prefix as being used in 1994, so it wouldn't be a surprise if the VAN prefix was also used.

Nice gun, looks to be in new condition, actually.

That's a pretty good price for a gun in that condition. I paid $425.00 for just the gun and I think two magazines (maybe one) a few years back. Stupidly, I sold it.

Am I reading the Special Order date code right? 4133 is 133rd day in 1994? So May 13, 1994?

What about the sights? They look like night sights with the outer ring around them but of course at 26 years old they don't glow.

Fantastic deal on that package.

I agree that the sights look like night sights but any/all nights I've seen have a date code on the side somewhere visible. Can you see some lettering, even faded anywhere?

No date code or writing anywhere. Not even the Novak and patent number next to the screw on top.

As I recall, the CS9 that I bought came with unmarked "dead" night sights. I called Trijicon and got an RMA because the consensus here was that they were made by them.

Upon inspection, they were Trijicons and they relamped them. It was $19.00 per lamp and I think that included the postage back to me.

I held my breath and sent the slide by Priority Mail.

All of which is to say that yours are a bit younger than mine, but for some reason back then Trijicon didn't mark them. When mine came back, they were labeled like the newer sights.

Yeah. I sent the slide in for my 5946. It got there fine. One thing that annoyed me is it was sent back requiring a signature and the driver left them on my steps even though I was home. Never even bothered to ring the bell.

The sights are probably marked on the bottom like those pictured here - 4566 Trijicon How could I know?

Thanks! I bet they are. The gun is marked LE on the box so I bet they were installed at the factory and have the bottom markings. But I can't imagine people being so cheap that they color in dead night sights instead of spending $60 to bring them back to life. One of the posters said that trijicon will look at a photo you send them and verify if they are theirs. I think I'll try that.

In my only experience with Trijicon, they were unable to confirm the sights were theirs from numerous clear photos. I insured the slide for the total value of the gun when I shipped it.

They were Trijicon and they relamped them. By the way, their fee also includes a new 12 year warranty.

I saw that on GB. I thought it was excellent with all the mags but I let it go I guess to you. I'm happy for you that I didn't bid and drive the price up. For me it was all about the mags. I'll have to be happy with my 3954. Glad it went to a good home.

I had a feeling there was a member here in that mix. I see you made one bid and dropped off. I figured it would go for above $500. For me, it was the 5 mags and the box, and of course the like new condition. I was hoping the factory grips would be in the box, but they weren't. Bonus that it appears to have Trijicon sights. $57 for brand new sights with a 12 year warranty is a good thing.

For what it's worth, my max bid before I went to bed was $450. Still would have been more than fair if it went that high, but closing at $425 was even better. I figured if it wasn't meant to be, then so be it. Glad I won it, though.

Good deal, great pistol. Just had some sights relamped by Trijicon, went smoothly but took about 7 weeks.
