Tonight the old Jimmy Stewart movie "It's a Wonderful Life" is being presented on USA Network. It has a special meaning for me, because I had the fortune to be in two stage productions of it. I played Mr. Martini, the bar owner at the Capitol Theater in Chambersburg, PA and Mr. Gower, the druggist, at the Weinberg Center in Frederick, MD. I look forward to seeing the movie every year.

I just saw that USA Network is showing it at 9:00 AM tomorrow morning.

It's on Amazon prime this month but, our local 6 screen theater is showing it on the big screen. It will be the first time seeing it in a theater for me. Our theater is running on limited days and hours and they could use the support. About 40 years ago I saw the original King Kong (the one with Fey Rey) in a theater and you get a different feel for the movie there. Looking forward to It's A Wonderful Life, the B&W version, this weekend.

I noticed that on Amazon Prime they offer two versions, B&W or Color, the color being a later colorized version, I assume.

I saw it on the big screen at the Majestic Theater in downtown Gettysburg, and it was an amazing experience seeing it in a theater. Go and enjoy yourself.

My all time favorite movie. I've seen it dozens of times and still look forward to the next viewing. The ending still brings a tear to my eyes.
It wasn't a popular money maker when it came out and because of it's lack of success, it was Capra's last "Big" movie. It was also Stewart's first movie after the war. Became a Christmas Classic on TV to the point that it was over exposed and withdrawn for a bit. Still an American classic. It's on Amazon Prime, so it's viewable pretty much on demand. I plan on watching in the next day or so, sipping a hot rum toddy.
Zuzu's paddles........ George Bailey....... Clarence Odbody. ....Mary......bells tinkle and wings awarded....... ah, what a movie.

Just finished watching the entire movie, started at 8 PM and ended at 11 PM. Just as good as when I saw it last year. Recently bought a book about Jimmy Stewarts life. He was quiet a man, and from Pennsylvania too.

Although obviously impossible while I'm on this earth, there are a handful of people from years past I'd love to meet. Jimmy Stewart is high on the list. He was an amazing and admirable human being.

James Maitland Stewart was a true American patriot, a man who loved the United States deeply and sincerely, and who demonstrated that love most pointedly in World War II.

Born in 1908, he was far older than most other pilots who were not career military men. He didn't have to go into combat, but sought to do so, and paid a very high price for his service, both personally and professionally.

Jimmy Stewart is someone all Americans should admire...how I wish we had more "celebrities" like him today!

My girlfriend ask me what I wanted my wife to be like and I told her "like Donna Reed on It's a Wonderful Life". She said she has never seen the movie so I'm going to fix that before Christmas!
