Just put aside a 19-6 2.5"

My 19-6 my last revolver duty weapon issued new in 1993.

Nice one you have there bronco45. Are those Hogue or Pachmeyers? I'll have to get a set of them once I get mine.

Also, thank you for your service! I have several family members in law enforcement.

Check the board here at S&W for a holster, if nothing check the auction site for vintage Bianchi, Safariland, Roys, Bucheimer. Myself I prefer OWB pancake style holsters.

Thanks for the other brands, I'll have to do some shopping.

Nice catch........haven't seen one for sale in a LGS in a good while

Only thing better is a 3 inch 66!

Check out Pachmayr "Compact" and "Compact Professional" grips...... I'd recommend Spegel Boot grips but there's a 2 year backlog.

Inside waistband try a Milt Sparks Summer Special

Great, now I'll have to keep an eye out for that one too! Thanks for the holster recommendation.

My lgs has a similar 19 which is tempting me. 19-5 with Pachs $900
They have a 66-3 2.5 incher with combats for 1000.
Anyway, both seem like a much better deal than his 15-3 four incher@1295.

Model 19's are a sweet and accurate revolver. I have two 19-3, one 2.5" and one 6". When son #2 left the marines and went to the police academy in about 1993 I gave him a model 19 six inch. I can here some laughs out there, most people had gone to semi autos by that time, but he could out shoot most of his class with it and carried it for two years afterwards. Carries semi autos now but still has that wheel gun.

Decisions...decisions...I know it's tough I agree. But I'd probably find a way to get BOTH the 19-5 and 66-3. That would be a GREAT combo. Good luck with your choices.

That's a fantastic story OldRN; what a great gift! I'll bet the OTHER recruits jeered him until they saw how great a shot he was. Kinda reminds me of 'Tackleberry' from Police Academy with his 629; a gift from his mother:

I think they're on consignment from the same person...and as a pair, there's $100 off the price of each.
