Here are some current ammo prices in Washington.
.22 Mag. $.40 each, .380 $1.00 each, 9mm $.75 each, .40 $.60 each, .45 ACP $.75 each, .223 $.70 to $1.00 each, .308 $1.40 each, 12 ga. $.40 each. Yes. That is price per round, usually for 1,000 bulk rounds.

How do these compare with your area.

I haven't been out looking. I buy mainly online and not much available they did have 9 mm $50/50rds. I just checked everything centerfiresystems is out of stock now. They had Oo buck shotgun.

The last time I purchased Russian wolf 45acp ball ammo it was $62.50/500rds. The wolf 9 mm was around the same price. Times have changed.

I buy in quantity much more often than a box or so and I also try to support the LGS. In the central Washington state area as of Friday January 8th; 9 mm unavailable, 357 magnum unavailable, 44 magnum unavailable, 45 ACP unavailable, 12 gauge available in skeet/trap only. I didn't record brands or pricing on the skeet/trap.

I bought 22lr/5 k cases. I noticed the 223 is $369/250rds. I think these seller/dealers are in survivor mode. Not much to sell. I heard what's holding up new ammo today is primers.

I'm saving my pennies waiting for this to blow over and see those first time gun buyers pawning the guns they purchased on a whim. I figure the dealers/pawnbrokers won't pay much so it's our time to score.

I'm not even bothering. Looking for ammo at reasonable prices is as futile as finding a $500 AR after Sandy Hook. I have better things to do than continually surf ammo sites looking for supply.

Simple fix: shoot a lot less. It's like when coffee prices go stupid, decide how much you really need that caffeine buzz.

when I rid myself of everything AR15 related I had last month, I sold 4000 rounds of 556 for 30 cents , and all my 9mm ( 3k ) for 25 cpr. I was glad to give some others a good deal. I`m not a scalper. Just wish I could find some small pistol primers, Lol

See post #6.LVSTEVE's post.
i haven't been shooting anything but rimfire for the past year and feel my .22 S&W revolver, .22 Advantage Arms conversion kit for a Glock 17 and a Ruger 10/22 all keep my skills up up io an acceptable level.
The days of taking 5 guns to the range and throwing a coupla hundred rounds per weapon downrange are done for now. I have a lifetime supply centerfire to meet my needs short of full collapse of civilization as we know it. Have a neighbor who owns 1- ONE 9mm, which is used for bedside/home defense. If he gets wind of 9mm availablity locally - off he goes with wife and adult daughter in tow and they each piurchase the limit allowed. Prolly has 10000 rounds of 9mm squirreled away.
As shooters we are creating alot of the shortage, your money/ your right, but apply some common sense and graze responsibly.
Jusy my .02.

The last time I bought some 9mm, I paid 17.95/ 100 .

OP are those retail prices or scalper prices from individuals?
Had a friend call yesterday from LGS. He found 800 CCI large rifle primers asked if I wanted them. "SURE"
He bought them for $2.98 per hundred. They are going for around $80-90.00 per K from private sellers right now.
It seems that supplies are loosening a bit around here. Not much, but somewhat

Local Academy hasn't had any ammo at all in about a week or better. Academy has consistently had at least some ammunition in the popular calibers throughout the pandemic, but it's finally drying up. LGS's have it, and OP's price quotes seem about right for here as well. . .

After the last 22LR shortage I learned my lesson. I began buying all calibers every month when I had extra money. Now I have no need to even look since I have plenty of all. People who didn't learn their lesson after the last time can only blame themselves.

Long before Klingon/Obama took office I bought 22lr/5 k cases. I noticed the 223 is $369/250rds. I think these seller/dealers are in survivor mode. Not much to sell. I heard what's holding up new ammo today is primers.

It's going to be a long wait.

Prices will never return to "normal". Your new Government Administration
has gun control plans which probably include restrictions on ammunition purchases and on calibers which will only be available for military use. Save your ammo for when the SHTF. This has become more of a possibility than ever before. I apologize if I have crossed the line here.

I suspect the days of on-line sales of ammo and components are numbered.

The current price of ammo makes me flinch with each shot, ruining any semblence of accuracy on my behalf........

I have pretty much stopped shooting altogether over the last year.
Ammo is too precious of a commodity to shoot away just for fun.
Don't see things changing for a long time.

At the LGS yesterday I didn't see any of the popular calibers.

For some reason they had a plethora of. 300 Winchester Magnum.

Some .243 Winchester, 6mm Remington, 7mm Magnum.

The only pistol caliber I saw were oddballs. .32 S&W Long, .30 Luger, .357 SIG, etc.

So I can't say what the going rate is for .380, 9mm, 45ACP, 5.56mm, 7.62 NATO etc.

If I can get lucky at a big box store...which is Sportmans Warehouse for me.

$15.99 for 50 round boxes of 9mm.
$11.99 for 20 round boxes of .223.
$19.99 for 50 round boxes of .38 special.
$.05-.06 per round for .22lr.

That's all I'm really buying right now so I don't pay attention much attention to others. I refuse to pay higher prices and buying in cases doesn't save anything right now.

My LGS had cases of 9mm for $500 and cases of 5.56 for $600.

Some of us weren't shooters through the last shortage, though I did pretty good at Walmart stocking up last year when they were selling out of 9mm and .223.

Those prices are from an email I got from a local gun show company. They sent a list of how much they had in stock with prices.
