I went through my ammo inventory the other day and pulled out all of my rimfire ammo. Not a whole lot, but, a little more than I anticipated. :D The majority is .22LR. Some decent target stuff like Wolf Match/Match Extra, SK Sub Sonic, Federal Match, but mostly CCI Mini Mag HP & Standard Velocity. I was surprised to find I still had 4 50 rd boxes of ELEY TENEX! And a bunch of bulk 'shoot'em-up' stuff. A good supply of .17HMR V-Max, and just a few boxes of .22WMR. It should be enough to keep the freezer stocked with rabbit and squirrel, pest/varmint control, and get in some target shooting trigger time ta' boot!

Check the latest prices on Mini Mags... you may want to make a centerpiece out of those boxes, stick a candle in the middle, and just admire them over dinner for a few days before you use them!

Hard to believe I was complaining over paying $15/100 last summer at a local show, ROFL!

What are Mini-Mags going for now? We don't have any stores that sell ammo, and I don't see any available on-line so I honestly don't know. I think I paid .11 cents the last time I bought some.

Roughly $150.00 per 500 rounds on Gun Broker!

You're in the middle of a lake, what do you have there?! LOL :D

I'm still walking funny after paying $130 for 500 rounds of Armscor 22lr this last Saturday. The last box in the city.

I hope the Ammo makers causing this shortage get their butts sued into submission. This should never happen ever again.

The worst part was out of 100 rounds fired on Saturday, 40 of them were duds. I was shooting a variety of 22lr pistols and every one of them experienced rim-strikes but no BANG.

Dud Ammo that I paid $0.26 a round for.

I am seething still and it's MONDAY NIGHT.

That picture is what all of us should have stashed before all this started. Maybe not those exact shells but a decent supply to get by with. Over the last few years when I saw a good deal on 22s I bought a few boxes or a couple of bricks. It is called planning ahead. I remembered the hard times of the early 2010s and stocked up when the price was right. But then I was never short during those times either because to this day I am shooting 22s bought in the late 80s and early 90s. I have enough and haven't even looked at 22s (or any other ammo) since the lid blew off early in 2020.

How about these? ;) 2.8 cents/rd
Still have these in a seal-a-meal bag from 1980... ;):rolleyes:

I've been paying $8 per hundred for Mini-Mags, that's Walmart's current price. Same as what their price was last year, and the year before that.
Sometimes I go in Walmart and they don't have any ammo, but I've found them pretty regularly over the summer and fall.

A few days ago another Walmart to the north of me must have just put out a good 8,000 rounds. I bought 2,625 rounds ( 5 boxes of 525 each) of Remington Goldens as I was getting low on plinking ammo.

Someone asked me why I didn't buy more of it (or buy it all) and sell some at a profit.
I told him, partly because there is a gun show next weekend and I want to have some money in my pocket if something tickles my fancy, and partly because I don't want to be that "other guy", that deprives others of some ammo to shoot just so I can profit off of others.

Just because Walmart doesn't limit how much you buy, doesn't mean I am going to take advantage of that and wipe them out.
They will have more ammo on the shelf the next time I go there.
I'm sure someone else that came in after me was as happy to buy some .22s as I was.

You can get MiniMags in the stores here, for $8.00 per hundred, if, you can get to them before the flippers and gougers.

Talked to a friend yesterday, who just kept buying after the last go-around. He has in the excess of 150K stocked up. No plans to sell any either.
