Remington 1100 owners

I own 4 that I've used extensively since early 80s. The one I use the most is my 1983 12ga. Tournament Grade Skeet. Beautiful gun. This is a photo of the butt stock showing the nicely figured wood, fine cut checkering and deep lustrous bluing. They don't make "off-the-shelf" mass produced guns like this any more. You're gonna find LOTS of 1100 fans on this forum. Enjoy yours.:)

I have a 12 gauge Special Field I bought used about 25 years ago. It has some rust on one side of the receiver like it had been left laying in water and there was rust inside the magazine tube. I cleaned it up and it works very well on SD pheasants. It is very handy and quick.

A 1100 is all I have ever used for hunting since 78. About ten years ago I finally broke down and had it refinished. It had been pretty abused over the last 30+ years prior to that. I had it finished satin. I'm glad I did because a couple of years ago I bought a new shorter barrel and it matched prefect. I saw a new .410 last year and almost bought it but it was pretty expensive. I have my fathers 30" barrel version also.

I had a LT-20 that I inherited from my dad. Very sweet but traded it for a S&W 617. Glad I did, just not a shotgun guy. Now I'm looking to trade or sell his 3200 12 gauge with a 26" barrels sometime soon. I don't hunt or shoot skeet and don't get a "kick" haha out of shotguns.

Only one I use for clays. Bought a TB 1100 back in 80. Cost me $330. Fancy figured walnut and high polish. A LT-20 would sure be nice but tough to find used nowadays. Be nice to see the 1100 line brought back soon now that production of the 870 will start again.

I still have one left from the 1970s. Twelve gauge skeet model and I have a short slug barrel for it also. Thousands of shots put threw that gun and the biggest repair it ever needed was a couple O ring changes.:D

I had 1100s in other skeet gauges and in fact the 28 gauge I had, to this day I regret selling it. Also had a couple trap models over the course of time.

I don't have a 1100, I'm A5 guy. I bought my wife a 1100Lt 20g in 1980.
Basically for deer bought as slug gun. Later picked up a 21" Special Field VR-FC. Hasn't been shot in 20yrs. The wife bought a set of Gun Chaps for it and I wasn't allowed to use it. Looks brand new. With slug barrel it feels like a rifle.

I was on the skeet shooting team in college. When I graduated, my Dad bought be a 12 ga skeet Model 1100. We bought a modified choke barrel at that time. It has worked flawlessly for 40+ years now.

My first shotgun was a well used 12 ga model 1100. I fired tens of thousands of rounds through that gun over 30 years and only had to replace the gas system o-ring once in a while. I converted it to a 3 gun shotgun and I now use an 11-87 in its place. I always found the 1100 and 1187 to fit me right for skeet, trap, or sporting clays although I had a Benelli super sport for clays that was easier to swing/shoot because it was light but it beat me to death if I shot more than 300 rounds in a day.

Not an 1100....11-87 Premier. Close enough? 12 Ga. 26" Vent Rib Light Contour barrel w/Rem Choke system. Bought it new in the late 80's. Always functioned perfectly regardless of what it was loaded with. Can't even remember if I ever missed a bird or bunny with it.

Well, yes.....I started wit Remington Model 11's (and still love them), then bought a 11-48 in 410 for a buddy's son, but it was too much $$$ for them, so it is still parked here, then I found a 1100 slug gun just before the pandemic stuff hit. I picked a spare ribbed barrel with some damage at the muzzle, which I intend to lop off and get it threaded for Briley chokes.

I did have an 11-87 Police Mag when I went through the police academy. We shot our qualification at the indoor pistol range. My 11-97 was far more smokey than the 870's that the rest of the class used. I guess that I was the only one who owned, or thought to bring, my personally owned shotgun.

I am digging the deep blue of the receiver and the fine wood. All my others were very plain.
