Ammo in stock

The first time I went to the site it wouldn't even let me enter the site without handing over a valid email address for "age verification". The second time (just opened a different tab - did NOT provide email), I got accosted to sign up for a mailing list, but I was actually able to click past that. When I finally got in, they had .357 Cowboy ammo at $99 for 50 rounds.

I think I'll pass...

I have dealt with Outdoor limited quite a bit. They are good to go. But as far as "reasonable prices", they are like everyone else. 80¢ a round for off-the-wall brands and remans of 9mm. Too rich for my blood.

I TOTALLY AGREE Gary!

After looking at their site, we have different definitions of "reasonable".

I've seen better prices from the shelf clearers and I don't have to pay shipping, tax, and give out a CC number.

I do NOT believe $79 for a box of 38 Special is REASONABLE!

I'm with Bozz, Outdoor Limited has been a good source I trust but the price per round with them and everyone else I check on is brutal.

I purchased 2 boxes of 9mm Remington htp at sportsman's warehouse Sunday for 35.99 a box. It's been so long since I've seen it on the shelf anywhere I couldn't tell you what the pre Covid price was. But for 50 rounds of hollowpoints for under $1 a round that to me is reasonable. $.22 a round for 22 on that website is steep to me.

yeah i can see why they have stock. those prices are ridiculous. i'll pass, and i hope i don't regret giving them my email address.

I wouldn't call the prices reasonable but they are at the going rate. But hopefully their having quite a bit in stock means the market is starting to stabilize. If they were sold out at those prices the cost would keep going up.

As long as people keep buying at the present prices, there is no incentive at any level to lower prices.
Ammo buyers are creating and extending their own problems every time they go online or into the LGS and pay whay they are asking.
The only way to see prices go down is to create a surplus in the market, not a shortage. As long as people feel lucky to pay $25-$50 for a $10 box of 9mm range ammo and buy at that price, it is not going to get any better.

What I find a bit confusing is, why there continues to be a shortage?

Those of us who had maintained a stock, we're good to go. I added when I could last year at reasonable prices, but I haven't even come near using up what I already had. I'm not buying more at these prices.

Who's buying this all?
Those who didn't maintain a stock, are they suddenly willing to spend a couple grand to stock up, when they weren't willing to spend a couple hundred before?

Those who didn't even own a gun before, have they gone all-in and now want to be preppers?

I understand the run going into the election, but at this point I'd have figured everyone who was buying, would be done by now.
