I own several 1.0 FS M&P LE trade in pistols in 40 caliber. One of them was an unissued gun and I want to add a few items to it to make it better. I have removed the striker block and sanded/polished it. I also polished the trigger bar. But, I still get that "VERY GRITTY" feeling when the trigger is pulled before it fires. Will the APEX Ultimate Strike Block fix this? I have read about it on APEX's website and I think it might be my answer.
Has anyone installed this to fix that gritty feeling? Any advice/suggestions on what kit I might use is greatly appreciated.

The Apex USB is very helpful, but one of the areas you should polish is the inside of the striker block channel. When the slide is machined there can be sharp edges left. You can try polishing the OEM striker block also. These two efforts will produce immediately recognizable results. The Apex USB with it's different face angle will be better yet.

I watched a video on YT where the guy shows he's using a Dremel and a round stone to buff the sharp edges in the plunger chamber. I did that and polished/sanded the plunger as well. It helped a little bit, but didn't fix the problem. I'm just going to order the USB.
Thanks CB3.
BTW, are you on an oil website called BITOG?

Well, I did the polish job on my FS a while back. Cleaned out the channel too. While, what I consider "grit" to be gone, I did feel some "staging".

Press the trigger slowly and once past the trigger safety, I could feel the trigger bar contact the striker block. Since the the block is chamfered, I could feel it slide along the "ramp", pushing the block up until it contacted the sear. Keep pressing to fire (well, dry fire). Release trigger slowly and I could feel the trigger bar slide off the block and ride along the slope. This almost feels like a false reset. Once the trigger bar comes off the block, the trigger actually resets.

So it feels more like a 3 stage trigger. First takeup to the striker block, then push up the striker block until contact with sear, then break.

Then I got a 5" ported core slide kit. The striker block is round like the Apex. Staging effect is gone as well as the "false reset".

That's exactly what I'm feeling, like a 3 stage trigger effect. And very gritty.
What is this 5" ported core slide kit you have? And, do you think the APEX USB will fix my problem?
Thank You very much for any advice you give me.

Got my kit elsewhere for my fullsize 1.0 9mm but comes with complete slide with tall contrast sights, barrel and CORE backstraps.

Here's one:

Smith & Wesson M&P Performance Center 40 S&W, 5", Black Amornite, Adjustable - Impact Guns

This one says for "magazine safety" but only means it does not have the warning rollmarked into the slide about firing with mag removed.

You can get one in 4.25" if you prefer, with our without the safety warning.

Thanks for the information.
I don't want to go that route. What I'm wanting to know is will the APEX USB fix my gritty trigger? If so, I will buy several for ALL of my M&P's. This nasty trigger feel is driving me crazy!

The Apex USB will help, but it is only one part of a fire control system with about a dozen interactive parts. While you have polished some of the components, there may be others that need to be polished/replaced. This may be too minute, but even the trigger axis, the trigger return spring, the inside of the slide where the trigger bar can make contact, the sear axis, etc., may all need polishing for the best possible trigger. Adding an Apex flat faced trigger didn't help with smoothness but it definitely helped with better trigger control.

A call to Apex Customer Service will prove helpful. They will not push their products on you but they will tell how best to approach fixing your problems. The attached graph shows improvement for a 2.0, but the comparison on a 1.0 is even better.

I have done complete polish jobs on various M&P's and was able to get rid of grittiness, but the Apex parts I installed improved the overall trigger experience. The bottom index is distance after taking up slack to break.

I have not installed a USB by itself to get rid of grittiness, but the bumpy blue edge on the graph is grittiness, and I believe the blue spike is the trigger bar contact with the OEM striker block. If your grittiness is solely during SB contact, then the Apex part would do a lot to help you.

I called APEX earlier and spoke to Corey. He suggested the USB for my situation. I also like the fact that he didn't try to upsell me more products. They are a classy outfit.
