.38spl hard to find?

For the few places in southern NJ that have ammo, none that I have seen have had any 38 Special. In my travels in the past 9 months, I have only seen a few boxes of 32 S&W and 32 S&W Long.

I reload so have not tried to buy any. In the local shops I have not seen any at all. You can look on Ammo Seek and they have plenty. I guess that would be a option if you just need a few for self defense.. I am hoping people will stop buying the overpriced stuff so that thing will start to get back to normal.

I often go to an indoor range that typically sells ammo.

Last time I went they had some and I bought a box.

That was about 3 weeks ago. Will go again soon and see if they still have some.

Otherwise haven't seen any for months.

What are tou finding? It seems to me that good .38spl ammo is hard to come by, these days..........

Buffalo Bore just posted this today.

I like that, even though they had to reduce production at times, always kept up with demand and never raised their prices.

.357 SJSP $95.00 for 50.

I just reloaded 100 rounds for 13 bucks. Unless I had a gun that literally had no ammo for and it was my only self defense gun, I would not buy a mo at 3 times the normal price. I'd never spend another dime in a store that gouged like that

I was just at the newly opened Scheel's in Colorado Springs. Tons of .223 at 10 bucks a box, lots of shotgun ammo, but the only centerfire handgun ammo was 10mm. They had at least a hundred boxes of it.

My range sells ammo to members at a discount (cheapo 9mm ball is about 20 bucks a box) but they haven't seen .38 Special in a couple of months. They think all of the production is going into 9mm.

I have plenty, but I'll be glad when this silliness is over.

Probably because I'm not looking for 38 special ammo, I seem to run across it periodically.

Most recently, I spotted 4 boxes of 158gr round nose lead ammo for $20/box which I bought.

I frequent out of the way, hole in the wall LGSs by preference and have luck finding ammo in those. The big box stores are not happy ammo hunting ground for me over the past months.

I'm not desperate for any ammo: I buy it when I see it at a good price. That's what I've always done.

I saw some this week for the first time in almost 6 months. Federal range and target, $75 a box.

Once I realized I could use small rifle primers. I started to reload .38. First time reloading pistol ammo, but given the current dry spell well worth it. I used to buy 500 round cans from Georgia Arms for $130, but it looks like those days are gone!

Just about ALL AMMO is unavailable in these parts.
Regular sources at regular prices , I meant to say.
$1+ a round, all over town.
Just the other day I was out at the Kirtland AFB BX.
They had a pretty good offering of Handguns and I took a look at a CZ-75 Compact.
I looked over into a glass case and saw about 6 boxes of Ammo.
Is that the Ammo?
Yes the Clerk Lady replied.
300 Blackout and one of the newer 6.5 Rounds.

I will be hard pressed to do so myself...
