I guess I haven't been paying attention!

I’m probably in the minority but I’ll gladly take my jeans made elsewhere. Production for a lot of products has gone overseas for a reason - to keep manufacturing costs down. I’ll take a $50 pair of made in El Salvador jeans rather than some $200 pair of jeans made here in the states.

Of course I also like migrant workers picking my fruits and vegetables. Would any of you sweat out in a field from sunrise to sunset in this day and age for $5 a day to keep my groceries affordable?

WHAT???!!! Wranglers not made in the USA anymore??? I just bought two pairs of Wrangler 13mwz's...the original cowboy cut for twenty-three bucks each. Been buying them and wearing them for decades! That right! Decades!! (Not the same pair, of course.):D

I came home complaining to Ms. Judy about the price shooting up to twenty-three dollars. I mean, just a couple of years ago they were nineteen bucks! I guess I can't complain because they sure as heck don't cost no fifty dollars like Levis. Always thought they were made in the good ol' USA. Found out that Wranglers started shipping production out in 2005.

Oh....and speaking of Levis. I remember when I was a kid, they were so stiff when you first bought them that they'd practically stand up by themselves. Of course, nowadays, they make 'em out of cheaper material but double the price.

What size you looking for? Got to be new? I knew a guy that had a sewing factory for welding shirts. He had the shirts made out of the states and when they shipped to him he sewed the collars on that said Made in USA.

My Wranglers fit the same as always and still cost $22 at WalMart. Damifikno where they're made, but I can tell no difference from those made in the 70s/80s.

I'd add that it's quality control that matters. If you eat a McDonalds or drink a Starbucks just anywhere in the world, they taste just like they do here. Carl's Jr same-same.

I'm showing my age but I remember when Wrangler jeans were $3.25/pair.
They were deemed a fair trade item which all stores could not sell them
cheaper or for more.
I half way blame the drug store cowboy craze back in the 70's for all
western wear going up in price. Oh yeah all these Nuevo cowboys
also wanted to ride the mechanical bulls.
I have offered to sell some of my worn jeans with holes worn in for, oh
let's say $80.00/pair. So far no takers but they will buy the new ones
that look about the same.

Carharrt

Carhartt here for the past 30 years. First Wranglers, Levi's, than Lees . Carhart fits the best for me & wears the best
Made in America since 1997.

Wow, how in the world do you get decades out of pants. Back when Levi's were made in the USA, I could barely get a year out of them or any pants. By years end their were patches on patches. Nowadays I buy 2 pairs of Wrangler carpenter pants per year and since December, 2 small holes have showed up in one pair already.

Any one remember Tuff Nut jeans? You would get a red Tuf Nut folding knife with each pair in the 50's.

Some of us have more clothes than we really need. Me for one, and here in Florida jeans will last a long, long time as daily wear here is shorts and a t-shirt.

It's truly a sad state of affairs...is virtually ANYTHING still made in U.S.A.?
Don't know about clothing**, but Triumph and Norseman drill bits are (Minnesota.) I went to my local store to replace a bit one day and they had Bosch- "Made in China." No, thanks (although the quality is probably up to Bosch standards.) If I'm paying "Made in USA" prices, I want a the product made there, too.

*** Thorogood and Justin boots, though.
