Naw, I'm not originally from the Natural State, but this is where I'm parked and gonna stay parked till I croak. Spent a LOT of years moving around, before and after the Army.
My first S&W revolver was a model 64 that I bought new out of the Ansbach/Katterbach Rod & Bottle (Gun) Club in about 1981. Wound up selling it to another GI in my unit in Berlin. Shouldn't have - one of those regrets I hear others saying too.
Since then I've added a few - a model 66-2 in .357 (6"), an Airweight that dates from ? (gotta look that one up) originally intended for Mrs. E, but I inherited it, a 22A-1 that's great for plinking and venomous snakes, and several models of the Shield (9mm Plus, model 1.0 in .45 ACP, and .380 Bodyguard). No S&W long guns - maybe some day.
I'm kinda partial to Ruger revolvers too, but I started out with S&W. Can't go wrong with either, IMHO.
