Naw, I'm not originally from the Natural State, but this is where I'm parked and gonna stay parked till I croak. Spent a LOT of years moving around, before and after the Army.

My first S&W revolver was a model 64 that I bought new out of the Ansbach/Katterbach Rod & Bottle (Gun) Club in about 1981. Wound up selling it to another GI in my unit in Berlin. Shouldn't have - one of those regrets I hear others saying too.

Since then I've added a few - a model 66-2 in .357 (6"), an Airweight that dates from ? (gotta look that one up) originally intended for Mrs. E, but I inherited it, a 22A-1 that's great for plinking and venomous snakes, and several models of the Shield (9mm Plus, model 1.0 in .45 ACP, and .380 Bodyguard). No S&W long guns - maybe some day.

I'm kinda partial to Ruger revolvers too, but I started out with S&W. Can't go wrong with either, IMHO.

Welcome aboard from upper right hand corner of FL. This is a great forum with lots of good, knowledgeable folks. Enjoy your time here.

Thanks for the warm welcome! In case anyone is wondering, my screen name reflects the instrument I play (in the Army, and even today, 27+ years later after retirement) - the euphonium. I also play trombone (bass and tenor), and tuba - though don't tell anyone about the tuba thing. Tired of schlepping that thing around.

In the brass world, we are known as "knuckle-draggers." It's fitting and apt, and I make no apology for it. :-)

So, you have a special talent! Something I don't have, although in 4th & 5th grades I tried to play trombone. Tried. Played bass in a friend's band in HS for their practice sessions when Doug was working, 100 years ago. Now harmonica is it! I like the Rugers also, but I only have one GP100 now and one semi auto pocket 9mm. Welcome aboard from Pittsburgh, PA!

Welcome! Where in Arkansas are you located? Lived there my entire life until I moved to South Dakota. I grew up in Mulberry (about 25 moles east of Ft. Smith).
