I will refrain from posting about prayer. I read an article yesterday that some bulletin in Homeland Security thinks that if
if you believe in prayer instead of vaccination you might be a terrorist. Or if you think the election was stolen you might be a terrorist.
I already knew that if your a veteran some politicians think you
might be a terrorist. Now with the Taliban victory in Afganastan
and our open borders, I want to keep a low profile, and stay
prepared for the future.
I got my two shots and plan to get a booster when they
become available, but I want question anyone's right not to
get the vaccination. I wear my mask but I won't question
anyone's right not to wear a mask.
So I avoid having a bumper sticker, avoid wearing anything
that might indicate my political preference, and I don't want
someone to spit in my coffee or food when I come thru a
drive thru. We are living in a different world now where
freedoms are disappearing. I think I am still safe wearing
my Vietnam veteran's cap.

I sort of equate wearing of mask and taking the vaccine to seat belts.
I wore belts since the lap belt days, long before any laws were on the
books. They just made common sense and the existing data showed
they saved lives.
Once again the data shows the vaccine and mask wearing save lives.
The information is out there for everyone not living under a rock so
why in the world do people resist these two simple solutions? And
unlike seat belts the vaccine and mask help protect others, not just
yourself.
As to the people who believe the vaccine contains nanoparticles that
will turn us all into androids or some such thing. Well maybe
Ron White was right.

You sound like me. I had vax ops multiple times in Spring. "Yeah maybe I'll get around to it." Covid is still trying to kill me. My 02 is 84% and ain't improving. Hindsight, I have been an arrogant ***. Hope I ain't too old to smarten up. Best of luck. Joe

Wishing you a quick as possible recovery, most of my family had it 2020, one in 2019 and did not know what it was. So I know too well there is nothing about speedy recovery, but just get well soon.
When were you diagnosed? Best of luck. I'm in relatively good shape and in my mid-30s, I know that doesn't mean much because this thing seems to be attacking everybody. I just hate some of the things you read like example from the EXVP at Pfizer, the possibility of ADE etc.

I also had questions at first but as soon as I saw
the early results of the vaccine I was convinced the
benefits greatly outweighed the negatives.
In the mean time my wife and I stayed at our home and
only went out for necessities.
I think it's 4th down and a yard to go. Go for it.
My daughter in laws brother is your age and is in his 6th month of long Covid. You really don't want it.
Absolutely do not, is he in good health? Its so odd how this works, a friend of a friend is in his late 70s, only symptom was lost of taste.

I feel you, but there is something called ADE which pretty much has your body not defend against COVID AFTER the vaccine, which is very possible.
No, it's not. No vaccine that causes ADE makes it through Phase III trials. The emergency use COVID vaccines have made through Phase III.

He was healthy before he caught it.. He still can't taste or smell normally,but that's minor. His big problem is bouts of foggy thinking and he's a pilot. it's not good..
My area is considered a COVID hotspot. Both major hospitals are maxed out on patient load, and they are sending patients out of town when possible. 87% of local hospitalized patients are unvaxed. Just over half our population is vaxed, so there are some breakthrough cases, but no deaths among vaxed patients locally. All deaths have so far been unvaxed people.
And yet, all I hear in conversations around me is things like "It's all a hoax. They are liars. Nobody is dying from COVID. Masks don't work. These aren't vaccines; they are experimental gene therapy. It's no worse than the flu." Etc, ad nauseum.
I'm very conservative. I get that people don't trust the government. I don't either, but this is real, folks. Protect yourselves to the best of your ability. Nothing is 100%, but 65% protection against Delta from the vaccines is better than nothing. Even if a mask only adds 5 or 10% extra protection it's worth considering. I don't think it should be mandatory, but I encourage people to consider the risks v. rewards.

Ah interesting, I was under the impression it was too early to tell about ADE

The variance in effects is major. A cousin in the UK was a regular squash player and 5 km charity runner. His long COVID has left him unable to make it upstairs without getting breathless, and major league brain fog and CRS, which is not good when you are a defence contractor.
Talk with people who studied this,went to medical school or nursing school and really understand this stuff. Everyone else just has an opinion,often uninformed. In other words don't hire a plumber to wire your house lol
Thats the thing, I hear pretty 50/50 between nurses/doctors etc. kind of freaks me out

My wife's Oncologist informed us that the chemo treatments would weaken her immune system and advised us to get our Covid shots. Fortunately, there's a CVS pharmacy that's walking distance from the gym we go to and we got our Moderna shots there.
