Hi all,

I always liked the idea of the "Dissipator," and since my 15-22 is irons-only...

Shopping list:
Rifle length handguards ($25 @ GunBroker)
Front sight base, Tacticool ($27 @ Midway)
Handguard cap ($5 @ Midway)
Front sight guts ($8 @ Brownells)
15-22 barrel wrench ($21 @ Tacticool)
Delta ring assembly ($23 @ Tacticool)
Sling swivel, plus rivet ($12 @ Bravo Co.)

Note that the 16" barrel just barely protrudes ahead of the front sight base... I could've gained another 1/8" or so by grinding on the handguard alignment nubs on the upper receiver, but didn't want to, yet.

That's cool.

I did a 6920 conversion on mine:

Very nice!

Ironically, I always wanted a centerfire "dissipator," but all my centerfire ARs have 14.5" barrels, which are too short (the front sight base would be hanging off the end of the barrel).

I did a 6920 conversion on mine:

Did you grind the plastic nubs off the upper receiver to get the delta ring up against the receivers?

(I can't tell from your photos.)

So far the 1/8" gap doesn't bother me enough to take it all apart and do that (and I'm wary of permanently modifying the receiver).

You can only get as close as the front of the takedown lug
