I posted this thread a few years ago, and got a lot of cool responses.

Instead of bumping an old thread, I thought I would start a new one and see what you folks can show pictures of now. The coolest thing that I have added to my collection is a vintage Remington display that I got a couple of year's ago. Even though it is a Remington display, I put all my current collection in it for now.

My humble, small collection.....

I think I fired about a million of those Ted Williams, Sears rounds when I was a kid! My folks would always put some in my Christmas stocking. I bet if I go through some of my old hunting clothes hanging in the barn, I will find a box in a pocket.

Your post brought back warm memories if a USA long gone.

I ponder the happy faces of the kids on the upper East Side of Manhattan on Christmas Day.... look mom, dad got us ammo....

Nice! I have a somewhat modest vintage ammo display myself - especially in regards to 22RF. I have never actually bought a single box but have acquired many them from "old timers", guys who are just shooting at the Range (I've swapped them with modern 22 ammo as they did not care about the age - they just wanted to shoot). A few bricks I have came from my Dad that just never got around to opening up that particular package, and some were just given to me when I purchased 22RF guns.

Pretty neat to look at - and the ones I have fired all went bang. :)

Nice display. If I am not mistaken that box of .22 long is pretty rare.

Nice and small - easy to display.

llowry61, Are you talking about the Western Super X?

From another continent, vintage Swiss .22 lr

CLASSIC12, what timeframe are your boxes from? The Swiss boxes are kinda plain aren't they? I like the differences of the US boxes. I wish they were like shotgun shell boxes. Many of them are like works of art.

Yes, I might be off base, but I think CCI still makes a 22 Long. I am pretty sure it has been out of production by other companies for quite a while. For some reason I had it in my head that if you came across vintage .22 Long it was a buy due to rarity, but I could very easily have dreamed it as well!

Here's one for you Larry.
I added a few bricks laying around and you sure you need that display?
I know a guy that could maybe fill it up.

Full boxes of old ammo have always interested me. My humble little collection was picked up at gun shows and gun shops in years past. I don’t think I ever spent more than $6 or $7 for any of them. I would hate to see the prices of this kind of stuff nowadays.

VERY NICE Paul, you should have mercy on me and just send me what you have so I CAN fill it up properly!😂😂 I thought a few of you folks might have a similar display to show. I wish I could go back about 60-70 years, and gather some of the cool ammo or knife displays that were in every hardware or sporting goods store at the time.

I am not sure, maybe sixties ?

Yes I agree they are plain and business like. Probably because they were made at a state arsenal.
