so my neighbor vic ( gulf vet ) has a nice sgi 938 with a fail to extract problem. I tell him just send it back to sig and the'll make good. nope he don't want to ( he suffered from ptsd so he's a little off )
I tell him I'll see what I can find on the inter webs ( this is going back nearly a year) I tell him I found several threads in Sig forums about the fail to extract and they all got sent to sig for a new extractor.
he tell's me ok and walks off. I see the guy in passing and bla bla but not a word about the 938 until Tuesday he comes to my door with gun is hand and a package from sig with the new ''modified''
extractor. he wants me to put it in because he knows me. but I digress.
today it goes to the range and mag after mag empty fine so I find an RSO and I face time Vic and sure enough 4th shot jam, fail to feed:eek: but that was my bad as some how the round did not have a crimp and there was noway that round would chamber.
so I did 2 more mags for him and he is wicked pleased.
he asked what he owed me and I told him nothing you already paid with your service to our country.

It’s hard to imagine that Sig (or any modern gun company) would send an extractor to a gun owner to rectify a problem, especially for a currently produce modern handgun.

While many of us can handle the low-level work required to successfully install an extractor on a semiauto pistol, this isn’t the most simple task for anyone and is beyond the level of a field strip. (many gun owners struggle with a field strip)

Very surprising to me that Sig would send out that part.

Good on you for getting him up & running!

looking at the package it came in it is from mid western gun works , so he just bought the upgraded part from them, as I said he's a bit off and a really nice guy.

Coffeemug:A like just doesn't seem like enough of a response for your assistance for a vet.

Good on you lad for helping that vet. I'm a vet myself and I do as you did, no charge, no money is enough to cover what you did for me.
