Oh Hell Yes!!OP, of the guns you've posted, (all very nice pieces, btw!) I would choose the 28-2, because it has panache. I would slap on some elk stags, find a cool holster, and call it my "BBQ rig". Here's my birth year (1959)4-screw 28 ND. It's not pristine, but it's pretty nice, and after swapping out hammer and rebound springs, and adding some shims, in the right places, this has become the pride and joy of my collection. It's smooth as butter, a wonderful shooter, that I love to ogle and fondle.

Based on the numerous items of inspiration found in responsive posts, you might want to reconsider - and designate more than one as a BBQ item.
That will help the economy, give work to holster makers, and put a huge smile on your own face. Thanks for the OP and for letting us know your decision or decisions when made!

Bamabiker, tell us about the grips on the first revolver there… they look kinda like turquoise on a silver base. Definitely a SW tribal look. They would be more appropriate at a rodeo or a pow wow than a barbecue. I like them!

Hey Frog, I picked these up at the big Tulsa gun show a few years ago. They seem to have the turquoise set in silver but the base plate looks to be brass. Kind of strange but I like different things you don't see all the time so I grabbed them.

Bamabiker, I'm finding those grips quite attractive from the stanpoint of appearance, but can't imagine that they would be comfortable to hold, much less shoot with. But you've gotta love turquoise and silver!

I agree with whoever posted BBQ guns should be blue or nickel. SS is just too utilitarian.
I think the 28-2 with elk, birds eye maypole or holy grips, or maybe combat grips would be just great.
And the 586 is just fine as is. For variety, elk, holy or maple grips to highlight the blue finish.
A vintage carved holster for the 28-2, a new fancy holster for the 586.

What you're thinking of as a downside on the M28 is actually an advantage ! Honest holster wear on a classic - ish blued gun adds Character .
Just because you like to use your M65 a lot is no reason to not BBQ it ! Simple appearance ? Doesn't matter , the boring unshrouded bbl is hidden from view inside your Bling holster .

Just some random thoughts going in no particular direction...
My user guns can see some awfully hard use. Like stainless steel guns rusting (evidently, they don't like working shrimp pots) getting scratched to heck while my clumsy self slides and rolls down a shale slope, getting dinged up on canoe seats and gunwhales, etc. I try to be the rugged, tough guy individualist and say each scratch has a story, it's honest use, etc. But such damage makes me weep. The reason some of my guns still look clean is that I'm a knifemaker, and I'm pretty good at polishing out scratches and such.
I found another contender in the safe. Nickel plated 10-5 with tapered 4" bbl. It's a delightful little gun to shoot and carry. Feels great in the hand with target grips.
Oddly enough, I rarely care to attend barbecues or social events. Maybe if I wear a pretty gun around the house though, my wife will be persuaded to make her amazing beef ribs? I think my true end goal is to have at least one outstanding custom revolver to enjoy without worrying the holster lacks retention, the grip is beautiful, but off, etc. I'm not above kydex, G-10 grips, rails, tritium, or even rails on a working gun.
I agree the 586 looks good enough already. The 28 is good, but custom grips will really complete it. The 625 cleans up really well with nice grips and leather.
My 65 is a bit of a car gun. I always have a gun on my person, but a spare revolver with full power .357 loads ain't a bad thing. Real reason it currently has Magna and BK grips? It fits in the lockbox in my vehicle that way. Targets make it a little too large. I need to grab a larger lock box one day.
I am very ignorant of higher end holsters, beyond Mitch Rosen, Kramer, Simply Rugged, etc. I got champagne tastes and a beer budget, so that'll be a fun pursuit.
At the end of the day, I still think the 28 is my main focus, though I plan to class up some of the others as time and money permit. Thinking about it, my four main working guns cover alot of bases. I can probly enjoy a bit of variety with the ones I've listed.
