Just picked it up from the LGS. Hopefully, I can get to the range this weekend.

Fit and finish is very impressive. The trigger is a little heavy, pull is very smooth, no stacking noticed. Reset is nice and crisp.

Spent some time today dry-firing. Love the feel of these grips. I have big hands and like the way these present.

I understand why they went with fixed sights, but wish the front blade had a recessed brass bead or orange inset. Will probably dab the serrated ramp with orange glow.

Seems to be a great start. Hoping the next in this series is another revolver. Maybe a 3" 327?

I'm glad to see Taurus branching out, especially in such an attractive configuration. After not really liking the King Cobra I had for a little while, I might have to give this model a look.

Maybe they would've been better served by spinning off these higher end offerings into a different brand name entirely, but I suppose time will tell. Looking forward to seeing how range day treats you!

I think it's pretty cool that Taurus is basically releasing their own spin on the Smith & Wesson Performance Center line, and am interested in seeing what they come up with down the line.

If they make a Taurus M44 Executive Grade model with a half-lug barrel, then I'll be all over that.

My only criticism is that big old Billboard beneath the Cylinder Latch. Honestly, if you've got to put that somewhere then at least put it on the Barrel.

At least that billboard's not bad compared to Ruger's "READ INSTRUCTION MANUAL" print! And I second the desire for more half-lug barrel offerings.

I've added orange to a few of my revolvers and a couple S&W 39s over the years.

For I best results do a base layer or two of white paint and then add a coat or two of day glow orange paint. The white base will make the orange paint a lot brighter.

However, since it's a pinned front sight, you may be able to retrofit a sight with an orange insert, or a night sight.

Taurus is just doing again what they used to do. This is my Taurus from their custom shop from the 90's. .44 Special, DA only, ported barrel, chamfered cylinder, full action job, and Spegal grips. Right from Taurus.

That looks pretty sharp. I wish they were still tapering their barrel underlugs and using the classic S&W shaped thumbpiece.

NY-1,

Still haven't had shooting time unfortunately, so it hasn't gotten out of the nice Pelican case yet!

Have a nice Colt waiting at the LGS for almost a month now. Too many revolvers and not enough range time.

Have read several articles about your new Taurus and all were positive. It is a good looking revolver. Enjoy it in good health.

It is an attractive gun and I like the thumbpiece. I won't be buying one. I have to quit buying guns. I already have a Hellcat on order. I ordered one with the optic cut and to the dismay of many I ordered the one with the safety. They have a rebate, expiring today, that includes 3 extra mags. Otherwise the gun only comes with 2. I will not buy another gun, I will not buy another gun, I will not buy another gun....

Oh, we know better.;)

I have the 856 Defender and it's a nifty fun-size 6-shooter.
