For the 1st time in well over a decade, I am a Glock owner.
When I started shooting handguns in the early 90's, Glocks were the hottest thing. But I never warmed up to them. It wasn't for lack of trying. I had the 17, 19, 21, and 21SF.
They were good, reliable pistols, but the triggers and ergonomics left a lot to be desired IMHO.
As some of you know, I love the 3rd Generation S&W pistols.
But I was interested in the Glock 45 MOS when I read about it. My LGS had one, and I traded a Walther CCP M2 9mm against it.
The selling points were that it has an ambidextrous slide release, and the mag release can easily be changed to be southpaw friendly (which the LGS did for me).
35 shots, 5 shot strings. Used Norma 115gr FMJ, Freedom Munitions 124gr FMJ, and Federal 147gr JHP. No FTF/FTE issues.
2 handed grip, 25 feet indoors. FBI Q target.
The trigger is the best I've ever felt on any striker fired pistol. The LGS owner tells me that Timney makes a trigger for the 45, but I'm happy with how it is now.
Don't worry, I'm not going to sell off all my 3rd Gens and become a raving Glock fanboi.
But I am impressed.
