Interesting if true. I was about to mention that the EZ is single stack because it makes the magazines easier to load and joke about S&W including a Maglula but that is in the ad.

The magazines look like Shield Plus mags. Which would mean a 15 round shield plus mag many be coming soon.

I searched and didn't find a single listing anywhere for this pistol. While it looks cool I think it is someone's idea of a photoshop dream.

Edit to add: Boy was I wrong. In less than 18 hours there was all kinds of info about it.

Looks like it's legit. S&W has this posted to their social media sites. Guess we'll see soon enough.

Got the email from them this am. Sportsman's outdoor store did a nice presentation on them. Looks like to be less then 5 benjis! I don't do Smith polymer pistols anymore. They shoulda stayed with Third Gen or even moved into other Gens, but metal pistols-something they did well.

But if that's what you like, you do you boo!

Regards, Rick Gibbs

In the unlikely event that the store/range here already has one, I will try it out on my Free Election Day Rental.
They have had early releases before.

ETA: They had two, iron and optic but not in the rental counter, so I could only fondle and gymnasticate one.
I kind of like it, reasonable size for a light holster CCW, decent trigger, prominent thumb safety, takes Shield Plus magazines. Can't do much about the flutes and toots but you can't see them through the sights.
I would sure prefer it to a CSX.

I don't get calling it "Equalizer", that is an old Colt tradition:

"Be not afraid of any man;
No matter what his size;
When danger threatens, call on me—
And I will equalize!"

I just got an e-mail about it from On Target Magazine. It does have Shield Plus magazine compatability and a Holosun 507k slide cut.

I wonder if that breech-block is made of something substantial, unlike the rest of the CheeZee MIM line. Appears to be a different design but that could be just for the optics cut.

Reminds me of S&W back in the day when they'd come out with a new gun every week by jumbling the four digits in the model #. GARY

I don't know how many EZ guns S&W sold, but now being able to use Shield+ magazines in this Equalizer model makes it a much better purchase than what the original EZ was. So if you liked the EZ and bought one, you might as well upgrade just for the additional rounds. 13+1 and 15+1 is A LOT better than 8+1.

Just after I received the e-mail from S&W (0719) came an email from Range USA (0804) with a video ad of the standard grim-faced stubbly operator wannabe doing a mag dump on an outdoor range. The first 100 customers today get to shoot 5 rounds. I considered it and decided since I am not a buyer I won't take up the place in line.

I'm always happy to see new products, but it seems a little too big to be considered a micro-compact.

It looks like some was testing out a router on the slide and that grip frame has lees contour to it than a Glock.

Some folks love em, but not a big fan of the EZ family myself. I recommended one to an elderly friend (EZ 9) and I can't stand the thing. :rolleyes:

I don't like the grip safety and his double feeds or stovepipes a couple rounds every mag no matter the ammo or who shoots it.

Just not a good taste in my mouth about the EZs.

EDIT: I have a 4.6 in. 2.0 full size in 45 acp and a 3.6 in. 2.0 Compact in 9mm and absolutely love em both. Both fine pistols about which I have zero complaints. The EZs just aren't my thing.
