That looks like it's possibly NIB...is it? Did you get the box and papers with it?

No box and papers, some minor flaws in the blue, call it 97% condition.
It did come with a Colt Letter.

Very uncommon revolver. Nice pickup.
Lovely gun. Reminds me of the photos in the 1980s special "Guns of The Gunfighters" from G&A publications. Barrel cut back to afford every millisecond of speed in a close range encounter. Up close and dirty, to heck with adjustable sights and long-er barrels. Immediately made me think of the original 2" bbl Lawman from 1970, with its exposed extractor rod.

Colt Letter shipping date is July 29, 1960. Shipped to Montgomery Ward & Company- 5701 West Courtland Street, Chicago, Illinois in a 1-gun shipment.
That nickel Model 10 is really sweet, I didn't like nickel guns when I was younger, now I like them more then blue.

Beautiful leather collection, I wouldn't imagine there are many O.P 2-inch holsters out there.

Thanks for the compliment. I am proud of it.
We carried nickel Model 10s 4" in the 1970's as a uniformed LEO. It took me several years of visiting shows and shops to find one like we carried. I found it in 2016 at a small collectors show in Virginia. It is a 1979 model 10-7. Some Smiths in nickel finish bring a premium. Once stainless became popular nickel was likely phased out. I say if you find a nice nickel pinned barrel Smith - buy it!

The 4" OP is without a doubt one of my favorite revolvers, the feel of that revolver in the hand to me is just about perfect.

Frame of OP being bigger and slightly heavier than Model 10 the recoil is a little less.
