Henry Big Boy REVOLVER!! Have you heard?

If Charter Arms and Rock Island had a Love Child...

Thank you. Charter came to mind straight away but Rock Island would have eluded me all night.

Ya'll insult my Charter Arms revolvers. I am officially offended. Ha.
Personally, I'm seeing more H&R...

I can't imagine what market segment they think exists that'd jump on this monstrosity, especially at a price point approaching $1K. It fits in nowhere. S&W, Ruger, Colt, et cetera have long made better carry DA's. And it's clearly not a "cowboy" gun, either, albeit slightly evocative of the genre. Henry's out to lunch on this one.

I'm intrigued by the birds head version. Probably not $900 intrigued but the street price will be less. Not sure what Henry is trying to accomplish here but I'll give them credit for pushing the envelope. They don't generally make bad decisions.

Wow, they took the ugliest parts of several other manufacturers' designs and slap them together. I wonder how long that brass grip frame will hold up to a steady pounding for full power .357 Magnum loads?

I appreciate the effort and was interested until I saw the pictures. Nope. Why a birds head? That makes no sense to me. A birds head on a DA just looks off. Not like it's the most popular style of grip on DA revolvers. Or any revolver. Granted they have their place....but still...

Even if it is discounted more than 20% for the average street price, one could buy a lightly used Ruger Single Six or Super Single Six for less money and have a better gun. Good luck to Henry.
Maybe if it was more like $299 and was to compete with the Wrangler. Which I wouldn't buy either.

Interesting, but I have a hard time imagining that Henry will compete with Smith & Wesson and Ruger at that price point. MSRP on a Ruger Single Six is a few dollars less than the Henry's MSRP, and it's going to be tough to beat the Ruger in terms of real-world performance.

They just might become collectable in a few years time. If they don't sell because they're uglier than a roadkill pig, they might stop selling them after a small run. But, if they turn out to be great shooters, that small run might be in demand.

Alot of ifs, I know, but possible.

Also, as far as the MSRP, it's only slightly higher than comparable Colts and S&Ws but it's actually about a C-note lower than the Ruger GP100 fixed sight model. If I was bringing out a revolver that I believed was a quality firearm, I would place my MSRP near where other comparable firearms are priced. If for no other reason than to avoid being classed as a "bargain alternative".

Ugly or not, I'll wait to see how it sells and shoots before I place a diagnosis of mental instability on an entire manufacturing company.:D

Hmmmm, A real clean 4" S&W 28-2, or the new Henry? Hmmmm, Decisions, decisions....:)

It reminds me of a gun designed by committee - All have their favorite design feature, any one of which may stand on it's own accord, but when combined together, just don't work...
