Reading this, I'm guessing you're okay with sending it out someplace to have them work on it, and I have to say I have no idea of who to send it to.
That being said, when I need work I can't do myself done on a firearm I ask the guys at the range or people running it, and get the name of someone local that earned a good reputation and they trust.
I also do the same thing for finding a contractor for work around the house, but it's usually a bartender where whoever they recommend is a regular and someone they trust to do their best and fix a mistake that anyone who works will have happen on occasion.
Over the decades there have been problems, but they always got solved since the person doing the work took some pride in it.
FWIW, and as another option, here's my M&P 45 with the dovetail plate so I didn't have to send it out to be cut (and the Shield Plus with it's plate.)

They will do a Sig P226 slide for my friend, and will likely do my 226, or possibly one of my 229s.
