Hi,

I have this holster that I got in a box of other things years ago & I was wondering if it is an older holster & for what type of revolver. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Top right corner of the belt loop you'll see the number 17 in a stamped square. That is the model number. your holster is molded for a model 19 or 66 K frame snub. Good holster I have one just like yours.

Leather ID.

I got at sale last weekend. Paid $2.00.
Has Black Sheep Brand XL 110 Stamped on
inside. I thought it was some kind of weird holster
having second thoughts. Any help would be appreciated

Safariland made great thumb break holsters. I have a couple of them for 4" K-Frame revolvers. Yours is for a shorter barrel length.

YOOKER, that is a lace on rifle stock raised cheekpiece. Many older prewar rifles had a sloping comb on the stock perfect for iron sights. However, when a scope was attached the stock was too low to get a good cheek weld, so they sold this lace on "comb riser". The military used them as well.

To the ones that replied about my holster,

Thank You for the information. Is this type holster still made in Monrovia, California? Just Curious. Does anyone know what the value would be on this?

Black Sheep was based in Dallas and made hunting apparel and accoutrements. They outsourced in the 70s or so, so you can find at lot of their apparel tagged "Made in Japan" and "Made in Hong Kong."

Is this holster for a J or a K frame?

Thanks,

Regarding the Safariland holster.....
I'm pretty familiar with that model. I used a couple of them in the late 70s thru the 1980s for my duty holster. I changed guns a couple of times, and always picked up a Safariland high-ride to go with it. They were reasonably priced and shined up well. I'd take a wild guess and say that one is worth $30 in good condition, 35-40 if brand-new, not used condition.
Since it's for a 2 1/2" K-frame, if you have no use for it, I'd take it off your hands. I have 6 or 7 guns that would fit.
