How do you guys pick a winner? Put the names in a bowl and have your wife pick one out? I've got some stuff I want to give away.

If you google "random number calculator," you'll find a bunch of them.

I use the reply numbers from each person's forum post, then a random drawing, then I can go straight to that post and PM the winner.

Easy to use random number generators can be found via Google.

It's good to make a separate numbered list of entrants. Invariably, you get some chatter in these threads so those folks have multiple post numbers; and therefore better odds. Then you get folks that say "thanks, but don't enter me." All in good spirit, but it complicates simply using the post number.

the phone app I used allowed you to select a range and eliminate numbers before selecting a random number.

I marked 1 through 100 on pennies. I go through the thread to see which members have said they want to be included and I put their numbered penny in a bowl, the penny matches their post number.
My wife or daughter gets the pleasure or drawing a number out of the bowl. WINNER.
Just the way I do it.
By the way, the bowl is one I turned on a lathe back in high school woodworking class and it is sitting here on my computer desk with the pennies in it.

I assign a number to a deck of cards and shuffle and draw one. If it's more than 52 I use a double deck.
