Olympics 2024

Paris last hosted the summer games in 1924.

There will be 10,500 athletes competing in 329 events in 32 sports and 48 disciplines.

I'm sure I will find events of interest to view and entertain me.

Go USA!

Not particularly. Caring for Mom with her dementia and our whippet Petra, in the last stages of kidney failure keeps me in a bit of a closed in world. Not that I am going to complain. There are good days with both of them that ease the heart and make the rough days not as bad.

Wife and I both were track and field athletes and competitive weightlifters in our day , so we like watching those events. Wrestling, archery, and swimming are good but usually have to search the odd channels to tape what we like in the wee hours. The regular coverage spends way too much time on stories and WOK stuff. I like a brief bio but when they go on for 20 minutes and then show 2 minutes of the actual event it drives me crazy.

Only if Bob Costas is on a different continent. I really can't tolerate him. I enjoy the track events. The qualifying and early meets have been full of great performances.
