I was raised around guys like the one in the picture. They were getting up in years but were interesting and inspiring to be around.

My grandparents homesteaded here in Wyoming before the turn of the last century.
Had an uncle who was good friend of Tom Horn. If you google Tom you will probably see a picture of him braiding a horse hair bridle. He gave it to my uncle before he was "supposedly" hanged, that's another story.

The bridle is still in the family.
 
Ben Franklin appearing at the 1816 meeting of the Philadelphia Agricultural Society must have created quite a bit of excitement. He had been dead for a quarter of a century by 1816.

Well, little things like being dead wouldn't stop Ben. But he did say " good fences make good neighbors" or maybe he did.
