Before I got my tonsils out my Mom prepared me by reading a children's book about another little boy who was my age and who was also getting the procedure. The best part was that even though I would have to stay the night at the hospital, I, like the little boy in the story, would get ice cream! Well, I got the procedure but the hospital did not give me ice cream. That was 60 years ago and the disappointment of my dashed little boy dreams of ice cream remained with me ever since — until yesterday.
Yesterday I returned from the hospital with a stent and a bionic aortic valve. My adult children were in, and when they asked what they could get for me there was, of course, only one thing to say.
It was cold, creamy and delicious. Definately worth the 60 year wait. I feel Blessed.
