Torture Tests

Are these videos torture tests or abuse tests. Seems to me they are abuse tests and I do not abuse my firearms.

Bullseye.

I've professionally designed and performed destructive testing on high value mechanical components to provide useful data based on projected service life expectancy and mean time before failure.

None of these Youtuber torture tests are anything other than, as you so very well put it, "abuse tests".

Amusing to watch perhaps, and they provide the content creators with clicks, but of no actual value regarding their "findings".

Which firearms can best withstand being run over by an Abrams Tank after being submerged in salt for 7 days and then buried in sand after being dropped from an altitude of 60,000 feet into boiling muriatic acid ?

Enquiring minds want to know.

It's not always about YOU!:)

Kind of reminds me of people I've known who abuse a piece of equipment and then complain that "it wasn't never no good anyhow". I never lend those people my trailer.

GarandThumb was using the M&P 2.0s with the hinged-safety trigger instead of the new trigger from the Shield Plus that works like a Glock. Some of the issues that Glock had were with the trigger safety. That said, the Sig P320 has no trigger safety and it also lost to the M&P.

It's a torture test, some of you need to get over it. It was cool.

I swear some people on these forms will complain about anything no matter what. I definitely wouldn't want some of you living next door to me that's for sure.

Not directed at you OP.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion..........I live in the middle of 80 acres......Thank God.........YOU or no one will EVER live next door to me.

You and Ted Kaczynski both have something in common, congratulations!

I don't know why so many of you are so critical about entertainment? It's a fun little video. The M&P showed its durability, I was expecting more of an excited response.

I agree they are fun to watch and I get a kick out of watching them. However, to be statistically significant something would have to occur 95 out of a 100 times. So we would have to start with 100 guns and 95 of them would have to do that 95 times. I suppose we could lower that significance to maybe 51 out of 100 and say the majority of times. Testing one pistol proves nothing much less the likelihood of the test happening in real life.
Still they are fun.

I'll happily watch someone else abuse commonly available guns that I didn't pay for , why not . Dudes want to put a SCCY under water and shoot it then throw it off a cliff? Knock yourself out. It ain't my gun

However, those idiots who bought an old Colt 38 and bent the barrel, then shot it triggered my anger sharks

The most "torture test" stuff I do is put lots of rounds through my range shooter guns, I put 2000 rounds through a Taurus 905 in about 2 months , running it hard because I use it as a "trainer" but that's just normal use
