Hi All…

I have an “M&P 9 Shield.”

This is the extent of the identification on it. I am trying to buy a lock holster for when I’m riding my motorcycle, and I can’t seem to find a match from the list of guns. Compact, 2.0, Carry, Performance, etc etc etc…

Most of them are listing a 4.25 inch barrel, and mine is a 3.1 inch barrel if I read the measurement instruction’s correctly. It is a single stack 7 round pistol though I have an extended mag in it adding one round and making it easier to grip…

Any assistance offered is greatly appreciated…

Welcome to the Forum! You didn't give us much to work with...only that you want a locking holster for riding on your bike. What kind of bike do you ride (cruiser, touring, crotch rocket), and what type of clothes do you wear while riding? Are you looking only for a belt holster (IWB or OWB)? I don't use a locking holster when out on my H-D. I stash my PC Shield Plus on the bike while riding, and slip the Shield and pocket holster into my pocket when I dismount. If I'm wearing a jacket or vest, there are pockets for holding a small pistol/revolver like the Shield. There is also the option of a shoulder holster under lightweight cover clothes. Check out Blackhawk, Safariland, and Blade-Tech...they all make Kydex holsters with retention features for 3" bbl. Shields. Good hunting!

Sounds like you have a "Shield". Not a Shield EZ, not a Shield Plus, Not even a Shield 2.0. The 9 refers to the caliber (9mm). The sites may not be that specific since the 9mm/.40 cal use the same holsters.

Every holster website I've visited will have some kind of "Holster Finder". Pick S&W as the manufacturer, then scroll through the list to find "Shield" or "M&P Shield".

Thanks for the info, and I apologize for the lack of info.... I was looking at a specific site, "Urban Carry," and I was having trouble breaking my model out on their site...

I'm a bit of a bigger guy, and I'm tired of having pistols gouge my sides. I'm losing weight as I type this, 56 lbs since April 1, with a ways to go, So I recognize the issue will get better.

I'm on a Indian Challenger Limited, and with friends or by myself, I like to climb on and go... I'm just got back on a bike after a long hiatus, (I was building and racing my Camaro, and then a massive heart attack) and I want some basic protection... I opted for the "LockLeather" OWB.

I appreciate the response and your time.

Yeah, the Urban Carry site didn't appear to make it very clear at first, though I think I figured it out. Time will tell... Thanks for the help....

Welcome aboard!
